The nude look is so in for spring!
And no, I don't mean running around in your birthday suit - I mean that nude is all the rage when it comes to makeup, clothes, shoes, and even nails!
One of my favorite fresh-faced stars is Blake Lively. She looks stunning - and is fully embracing the nude, although quite tan, makeup trend - in the latest issue of Vogue.

Blake is like the epitome of the sun-kissed California girl here!
I love how after she made her dramatic appearance at this year's Costume Institute Gala in that much-talked about mini Marchesa, she changed into a plain white v-neck tee, a mini skirt, Converse sneakers and nude makeup for the after-parties.

The nude trend has definitely heated up this year, from nude lips to barely-there blush.
When I'm going for a nude makeup look, I love beginning with one of my Lucent Face Powders, like Sparkle Beige or Natural.

Keeping the color scheme in the buff, I dust on a little of Email Me on my cheeks for a natural glow.

The nude trend also dominated the spring runways, as designers from Isabel Marant to Stella McCartney showed gorgeous nude looks.

I love the delicate one-shoulder detailing of that Marant dress, and the draping is sublime. How chic are those Stella high-waisted trousers? I want them, now! :)
I am 100% completely obsessed with the gorgeous Dree Hemingway's nude and neon Valentino Couture gown that she wore to the amfAR Cinema Against AIDS Benefit Gala on May 20. Wow!!

If you're a fan of the nude trend, but don't want to seem like you're leaving the house naked, why not ease into the trend with a chic nude nail polish? I love Essie's Naked Truth.

It's a perfect birthday-suit beige!
You know what a new nail polish shade means... a new pair of delicious nude heels to show off her perfectly pedicured toes in!
My two current picks are most definitely Jimmy Choo's Private Patent-Leather Sandals and Steve Madden's Nanciee.

And of course, the Texas girl in me is looooving Tapeet's Western Boots!

Oops! I forgot the eyes!!
A pretty nude shade is ideal for giving your lids the perfect sprinkle of shimmer without looking too made up.
Try All Spice, Driftwood, or On the Phone - depending on your skin tone.

FUN TASK:
What’s the craziest thing that you have done on your summer vacation?
I'm preparing to hear some pretty zany feats, ladies... so don't disappoint.
I'll send Natural Lucent Powder, Email Me blush, On the Phone eye shadow, and Essie's Naked Truth nail polish to a few of my favorites.
My favorites are...

I was 22, and two friends we decided to take a trip to Italy, aimless
Only a small suitcase each, and we left without destination
Often we found ourselves having to sleep in the car, because the hotel had no more seats left and we knew where to go or to stay together that day known to women who lived in the area and gave us a couch
By day the sun and sea, and the evening disco
Every day a new city and new people to know
And every day a new adventure .... like when the car after parking near the beach, and be going for a walk, I forget where it was on our return!
We walked for miles on that waterfront, spreading the word to help us, until one boy did not tell us where he had seen a car like this!
We were already desperate and already thought of having to sleep on the beach, since money and documents were inside!
Sure, hire a tour operator gives more security, but the fun and memories of that holiday will follow me forever!

Well my friends decided that it would be a good idea if we tried swimming across the river. We thought it would be a hoot. Little did we know that the current is pretty strong. Well we starting off fine and when we got about a quarter of the way down we realized that the current was strong, we egged eachohter on to the other side. When we got there we could not see the hotel any more and had no idea where there was a bridge so we swam across to get back to the correct side. When all was said and done we had to walk back almost a mile to get back to the hotel. Our parents were so upset and asked us why we did not turn back and we just told them that we did not realize how strong the current was until it was too late.

We spent time playing with the kids and building some new homes. It was amazing. There was one little girl that ran around saying "que bonita" to all of us girls. She was suchh a sweet little girl. I am so happy that I had the opportunity to go down there

As he helped me down the side of the cliff I slipped a little. Had it not been the tree, shooting out of the side of the canyon, that stopped my slip it would have been the end of the story. The path widened as I made my way of over to the bolder. I waited for one tourist to come off the bolder, so that I could walk onto it. As I walked across it I was fine...always being a little adventuress I had no problem doing this. UNTIL, I crossed a crack that was near the end of the boulder. When I put one foot over the crack suddenly my perception of the canyon changed. In an instant, I could see that I was ascended from the canyon and the hight from where i was standing to the bass of the canyon became even longer. My knees buckled, I couldn't move. I found myself beginning to reach for the ground when, I told myself "I could do this." I turned towards dad, for him to take a quick picture and then very slowly and shaking I made my way back. With my sweaty hands I grabbed my dads palms ( which, I found were sweating as well) so he could help me climb back up the cliff. When I got to the top we looked at each other, took a sigh of relief at the same time, and in a scared response my dad said, "Don't tell your mom!!!!"
Needless to say....I have never been the same with heights since then

The only reason I agree to go with them is that we've chat on the forum for over five years, from that we knew each other well enough and decided it's a good chance for us to have some fun for a week. Not only we have to fly over (since we all live in different countries and only TWO of them are locals), our goal is to see sunrise while we stay on the mountain (for two days and one night). However a typhoon just hit the mountain and cause failure of the very last part of mountain railway - which we managed to have someone pick us up from the hostel we booked.
This may sound crazy - travel with people who you never met before and stay over night on the mountain which just hit by typhoon, but since we all know each other very well (and most of us are GIRLS!), we did have a great time!

Me and some closest friends decided to take our holidays in Thailand, that is one of the most beautiful and particular places in the world, so different from Italy (where I live) and from my culture
.
We visited places like Bangkok, Singapore, Bali...
This is a photo my friend took in Bali
Oh well, let's go on. I wanna talk you about crazy things!
Thank to my friends I've done lots of experiences I, sincerly, wouldn't ever do in my life!
I could tell you something I've done (force to my friends) like Ride an Elephant in the Jungle (OMG It was a HUGE animal!), canoing in Khao Sok Park (drifting!), Dive from High Rocks.. etc...
But The most Crazy thing, the craziest thing I really can't realize I've really done is....
Oh yes, EAT BUGS!!!!
In Thailand there are lots of "kiosks" that sell these "delicatessen"..
And a little bit for challenge, a little bit for curiosity, and a little bit for madness I decided to try these...
Oh well, I have to say that was not (SO) bad.. (maybe because they were fried, and you know that everything's fried is better!)
But I think I'm not ready to take again the same experience!!!
I wanna say thanks to my friends
I think that, without a little bit of "happy insanity" your friends give to you, the life wouldn't be so precious! Thanks Carina

It was a magical day of free-falling for 60 seconds and then smoothly gliding like a bird back down to the earth. The noise of free-falling is so loud that you can't hear yourself scream, and the silence of floating under a parachute is just the opposite--so serene and peaceful.
The funniest part of this story comes a month later when my future husband called me up on the phone to go skydiving again.
"Hi, this is Jeff." he said when I answered the phone.
No Jeffs came to mind. "Jeff who?" I asked.
"Jeff from camp." (We had worked together at the same summer camp, but I still wasn't placing who this guy was.)
"Jeff who?" I asked again confusedly.
"We jumped out of a plane together!" (Talk about making a poor guy work for a second date.)
"Oh, Jeff! I'm so sorry! How are you?"
And thus began our second date.
You never know where a little bit of daring adventure may lead. I've been skydiving about a dozen times since then, but the highlight amidst plummeting to the earth at an amazing rate was meeting my best friend.
Oh, and by the way, my favorite nude shade is Hot Chocolate. Such a pretty eye color with a beautiful pearl finish!

A cop car drove by (I assume to make sure that the party was dispersing) And spotted the two of us and turned around. We knew we would be in serious trouble if we were caught so we ended up high tailing it down the street and down an alleyway and hid there.
We saw the cop come by and shine his spotlights down the alley but we never got caught.

Anyway one night we were seeing them play a free show on a campus in upstate NY.
We unknowingly parked in a staff spot and got our van towed , we didn't have any money to take a cab to the tow yard and public transit was no longer running so we just crashed in a park , behind some bushes. It was so cold without our sleeping bags though that we both kept waking up .
At around 5 am we got roused by some cops who initially wanted to arrest us for vagrancy but somehow we talked them into driving us to the tow yard so we could get our van. That day we just wandered around NYC drinking a million cups of coffee to stay awake until gig time.
We got to the show earlier and started chatting with the band who by this point recognized us after seeing us the past 6 nights in a row. We told them what happened with getting towed and not really sleeping and how we had driven down from Canada to follow them on tour and they let us hang back stage and eat a bunch of their rider (yummy hummus) AND gave us each a few tshirts and records.
Totally worthwhile road trip.

I went to virginia beach--they had a hurricane the day before but we decided we still had to go. We pulled up and our hotel sign was in our pool. There was no electricity, we were on the 5th floor (4 girls=lots of luggage). We got settled into our room and went out that night--had a ball. The next morning we decided to go to the beach--all the others were taking too long so i told them i'd meet them there. I went down to the beach, set up my towel, and went into the water and after a few minutes something brushed up against me...I looked down and there was a dead body. YES A DEAD BODY!!!!! I had to yell and scream and wave my arms in the air (if you've never been to VA beach--the lifeguards are set up pretty far from one another). I finally got a lifeguard and they got the dead body....I had to give a police report, the news was there and when my friends finally came down to the beach they saw me surrounded by cops, lifeguards and a big tent (trying to block the body)...they freaked out and were trying to get to me but the cops had me sanctioned off......
It was absolutely the most insane vacation and experience i've ever had.
so when people tell me their "vacation" horror stories...i get to turn around and say "i found a dead body in the ocean on the first day of my vacation".

It was pretty crazy being lost in another country!
written by experimental, May 28, 2010
. Crazy thing is that at that time he lived 3000 km faraway from my home country, he had somebody else in his life and we had quite a big age difference – all the things, that me – the good girl, couldn’t neglect. I was so perplexed, my mind was saying – No! No! No!!! You can’t do it! But my heart was weeping just one word – Love! So the first time in my life I surrendered to my feelings. Six months later I quit my job and moved to live with my love. It was five years ago. Now we are married and we are still crazy in love. Each day we discover that our feelings are stronger than on the previous day. I don’t regret anything, even if I should learn other language and culture and it’s still hard for me to live far from my friends and family. It’s the love of our lives - crazy, tender, passionate and sweet love. Love, like all the love songs and books are about. Complicate, but so good!

the craziest summer vacation i had was when i was around 7, i begged my parents to let me have a tent in the garden.
i used it mostly during the day, but thought it was a great idea to sleep in the tent all night, i pestered my parents into letting me because it sounded like such an adventure.
they eventually agreed, i was given a cold beans for dinner, when i tasted when one spoonful it was so horrible, but i didnt say anything because this is what people eat during camping, and then during the night, i started hearing noises, i was sooooo scared, i cuddled my teddy bear, i wanted to go back inside the house, but stayed there until i eventually fell asleep.
when i woke up i was back in my bed, i was told that i had gone in during the night, but later on my parents said that they knew i would be too scared and they had stayed up until i fell asleep and had brought me inside.
i never pestered them again to let me sleep in the tent, but it was fun to write in my school book about my vacation, my friends thought that i was lucky to have so much fun.
its funny you mentioned nude clothes, makeup, etc, what about all the hype about venus williams in her nude underwear, i think she looks great, and its nice she is trying something different, she is bringing fashion into tennis.
now that is a cool outfit.

There were about 50 cars stopped on either side because everyone had been there for several hours already and no one could get through. All of the people from the cars rallied together and cleared all the fruit from the road (taking the unbruised spoils as a snack since we were all starving by that point) and helped the tow trucks get the cars out of the compromising and cramped mess that it was.
It was a completely bizarre experience, but nice to know that an entire mess of people from other countries could rally together to help some people who needed helping.
It took about another hour to get everything cleared but we all helped to get them out of there. Who knows how long we would have been there otherwise

I couldnt sleep one night and we had a boarder living at our house who also couldn't sleep.
We decided to go on a drive and ended up at this outdoor theatre.
There was a pond for this production so we decided to reinact the play and then go swimming. We were having a hoot until we saw a light in the bushes and we went to investigate and it turned out that the whole cast lived on the grounds and we headed for us to investigate the noises.
We hightailed it to the car and took off. When we were about a mile up the road we saw a police car pass us and we knew that it was about us!
we never got caught but it was a close call!

) I looked online and saw there were some great deals for last minute traveling to be had so I got everything together, rented a minivan and away we went! When my husband called and found out we were on the road he was shocked I took them, I am an intense planner and have a hard time doing anything spontaneous... it stresses me out! I will admit I debated turning around a few times... the thought of handling my boys on my own in an amusement park was terrifying, but I decided it was time to live a little! My boys will only be young for so long!
The boys had no idea where we were going and were totally surprised when we pulled up to the hotel! The look on their faces was priceless! Sure they were a little crazy at times and it could have been stressful but I did my best to relax and let go a little, just let the boys enjoy their time there. They had a blast and we all survived the trip. They still talk about the time mommy surprised them with the "funnest vacation ever".
I am so glad I took a chance and did that It taught me that some of the best memories my family can have are from times when we just go with the flow and let our hair down! And I learned to never underestimate myself... I *can* do it!

We did not arrange for accomodation when we left, and it was the holiday season in the country that we visited, so there were minimal rooms and we nearly ended up sleeping at the railway station on the first night. But fortunately, we eventually found a room.
A couple of days later, it rained so heavily that some of the roads were flooded. We had to make our way back to our accomodation on foot and it was the longest 2 hour journey (it felt like that at the time!).
But despite all the hiccups, we had a good time with the friendly locals and wonderful meals everyday. Planned vacations may save me a few headaches, but somehow, it's the unplanned trips that leave the lasting memories.
