One of my favorite activities to do in the summer is build sand castles on the beach. My inner child loves coming out to play!
You may remember a while back, I created a super fun little kit that was called The Sand Castle Collection. It was really natural and pretty, everyone loved it!
This collection is perfect for usage on the go, is really convenient for the purse and comes with a super petite bamboo brush! :)
I used fanciful visions of sand castles and the shimmering, sparkling sea as my inspiration for this kit. These neutral colors are so flattering on so many different skin tones!
Today, I thought I’d search the web for some of the most out of control sand castles that I could find, and I have to share what I found with you!!

It’s crazy to think about all of the minute detail that go into these lavish castles! The people who build these castles are seriously like artists :)

While the castles I’ve created never look quite like this, it sure is inspiring to think that building a castle out of sand like this is possible!
Although The Sand Castle Collection is no longer with us, there are some other sweet, sandy shades that we still have!
The Sand Cherry blush is gorgeous deep peach with cherry undertones and tons of sparkle!
For the eyes, take a gander at Driftwood (which was actually a part of the collection!), Sea Horse, and Movie Night.
Driftwood is a warm caramel beige matte shade that gives eyes a bright, natural look.
Sea Horse is a creamy, dreamy cream shade that is sure to make your eyes blossom.
Finally, Movie Night (the big size, by the way, is currently $1.50 off - get it before it’s gone forever!) is a warm matte beige.
All these thoughts of sand and warm beach days makes me want to be in Malibu, asap!
FUN TASK:
I want to see your beachy pictures! Share your best photo at the beach (and let me know the story behind it) for all of FAN CLUB!
Guess what? I still have a few fabulous kits of The Sand Castle Collection left, and I’m going to send them to my favorites!
Good luck!

Carina

If I had to pick one thing I love about the beach it would the the sand. It is just like getting a little pedicure

We went fishing with our little one and we have a picture of him with a wave crashing up against the sand and the sun rising and his silhouette with a fishing pole.

Pain unexplainable.
Favorite beach memories.
I used to take my youngest, camping all summer, for years. He loved the water; I called him my Water Baby.
We would go to Lake Superior and Lake Michigan and he would spend all day in that cold water.
He would turn blue lipped and come out on my insistence, only to "pretend" to fall in the sand, and have to run back in the water to clean off.
That little boy is in college now and I miss those days like nothing I can compare with. I ache for those days.
So my photos are gone, but my memories are vivid.

Then one night while wandering the mud after a viscous lightning storm we saw a family of DEER out there! Just wandering around aimlessly in the wet sand. There weren't even any woods nearby that the deer would have wandered out of. My sister and I were convinced that Harry Potter must be somewhere conjuring up his patronus. Why else would there be deer on a beach?

No photos to attach, but a link to a very famous painting and one of my favorites - Mary Cassatt's "Children on the Beach." What beautiful sunkissed children.

She had a lot of fun playing with her big sister and getting to play in the ocean for the first time. I can't wait until we go back, but I'll make sure I feed her before we do. LOL

We both found the perfect color for us with the everyday minerals try me kits, and couldn't be happier! I have told all of my friends and got my sister hooked as well. Your brushes are excellent and such a great value! I also love the eyeshadows and lippies! Keep up the great work, and thank you!

It was really low tide, and we were able to see a lot of small starfishes (the small beige ones in the 1st pic), then all of a sudden we saw the bigger ones by the rocks!! It was fantastic!!!
That was the first time that I saw starfishes that big, outside of the Vancouver Aquarium.
They were so colourful and bigger than my hand and one even had horns!! O_O!!
Taking pictures was enough for my cousins because they were actually afraid of touching the starfishes, but I wanted to hold them, so I carefully lifted them up for a couple of pictures, then I placed them back were we found them. I was of course apprehensive at first when I was handling them, especially the one with the horns, but it was such a rush afterward!! I couldn't stop grinning!!
The people there told us how we can leave them out to dry, so that we can keep them as souvenirs, if we wanted, but I was kinda horrified at the idea of killing them, so I just politely refused.
Other than that, It was one of the best and memorable places we've ever been!!!
*I don't know if the pictures will show up. If not, then just please follow the link. Thanks!*

It's me fooling around on the beach...All the people nearby also had fun looking at me and smiled! After the "stonetherapy" I had them everywhere...
Don't judge too strictly!

Recently I went to the beautiful island of Bali for a quick getaway. My boyfriend and I were staying near to the Kuta area where the beach was a tad too overcrowded. So we decided to explore around a little more and we got ourselves to Nusa Dua. It was great!! The skies were clear and the sun was perfect for tanning. The beach was really clean and we felt almost like we had it to ourselves! A nice, warm and lazy day at the beach. Perfect right? So then there i was trying to get some good beach jumpshots. Heh.
A sand castle collection would be a good add to my EVM collection. Its definitely something that one can use everyday!! Thanks for making EVM happen! =)

I went to school in a landlocked state for three years, and my appreciation for the beach (as well as for Korean food, which I missed intensely out in Ohio) grew a lot during that time. So it became more and more of a tradition for me to try and make it out to the beach at least once each break. Every summer, a friend of mine from school hosted a bonfire at Huntington Beach for alumni, current students, and whomever else was around--bonfires are huge, and I think almost half of my trips to the beach in my adult life were for bonfires.
The first year I was back in California for good, I went to the beach a number of times, but usually it was at night--it's my favorite time. There aren't a lot of people (occasionally that's because I go after the beach officially "closes," muhaha) and the moon is reflecting off the water. I love to take off my shoes (invariably, I'm in flip-flops, because I *am* a Cali girl) and just get my feet wet. I'll stand there and listen to the water, feel it lapping over my toes, and just take some time to think and clear my mind. Also, there are some rocky beaches, and I love going and sitting on the rocks, watching the water, in the winter when--again--there are few people braving the cold to go to the beach. But I suppose four years in the Midwest have made me fearless.
Another favorite memory is from a semester abroad in Austria. I loved the semester, but I missed the ocean--and once in a while I got to see the water, like when I took a trip to Barcelona and got to walk on the pier for a bit. But after the semester was over, I went on a trip to Ireland with some friends, and we went to the Dingle Peninsula. We took a drive along the coast that brought us to Slea Head, where there is this magnificent beach. I didn't realize how much I had missed the water until my feet hit the wet sand--I have a couple of pictures that I took before I gave into my glee at finally being at a beach again, but they don't do justice to the vivid colors that were typical of everything I saw in Ireland. I'm including one of the best ones. (Hopefully it posts!)

My family came to visit this summer for a very short time. In fact, my sister (who lives over 1600 miles away) had to split her time with her in-laws that lived a few hours away from me. She came to stay with me for 2 days and then she had to go since they had planned to go to the beach. Then she suggested we go with. We booked the very last hotel room where she was staying and we were on our way. After sitting in the car for hours through some heavy traffic, we were finally there. The kids went crazy. It was worth the drive and traffic to see those excited faces and hear the delighted squeals come from them. It was their very first time at the beach and seeing the ocean. We had a blast. In the morning, we woke early and searched for shells. My daughter picked up everything she could carry, even broken ones. The kids found a crab and thought it was so cool. We let it be, but after some time when people started coming out, a couple picked it up and started examining it.

this place is so special to me. when this picture was taken, I was with my friend. I just got my new camera, and it was sun (something that's almost never here) I just love the summer because then we can go to the beach and chill, It's winter here almost the hole year so when the summer comes its so beautyful. the beach is one of my favorit places. even when its snow everywhere its beautyful there, I have some picture of it. the snow is lying on the ground, but somewhere there is no snow because the water has taken it.

it has to be when i took my dog to the beach for the first time, lets say he went a little mad for the sand.
the silly but very adorable doggy took a fancy to a little bucket and started running away with it i just couldnt stop laughing as i ran after him, which wasnt easy in my inappropiate choice of wedge boots.
i had sand everywhere and we had so much fun.

I was so used to seeing flat land and lots of sand (it sometimes seemed like you had to walk for miles in sand just to get from boardwalk to water). When i went to ireland it seemed so natural and "real" and not as manufactured. There was barely any sand and lots of cliffs and hills....it was absolutely amazing....and beautiful....and spectacular.....Here is my favorite picture that i took

I would like to share this piece of my (beachy) life with you Carina, and all the fan club
Summer 1990.
From left to right: Lucia (Yep, Me!), Mary and Naike. About 4 years old.
Too cute!!
These 3 little girls knew each other from 1989, when they all went to school togheter for the first time.
They instanlty became inseparable friends!
And today, after 20 years, they still are best friends.
Also if our lives took different directions I can say we are today like many year ago we were in this pic: hand in hand.
This pic is so special (is one of the first pics together!), just because it remember how True friendship could last longer: everytime I see it I'm always moved because I start thinking about all we've done in so many years, all the experiences lived togheter, the quarrels, the joyful moments...
And, after all, we're still here one for each other.
Hand in Hand
Thanks for this post Carina, and Thanks True Friendship!

Our best day at the beach was the first time I took my son to the beach!
He was so enthralled with the waves but scared a bit too. It was like nothing he had ever seen and he couldn't take his eyes off of the crashing waves.
He finally got a little braver and decided to go down by the water, just barely wobbling (checking to make sure that I was right there behind him) he went out and smushed his toes into the sandy water.
He was having a great time when all of a sudden a little wave came and knocked him onto his behind!
It was so funny to see the shocked look on his face as his behind hit the sand!
It was a great day at the beach, our best ever.
I got a great photo of him playing in the sand. I will see if I can get it online and post it later!
