EYE LOOKS - EYE LINER

Eyeliner can be the perfect finishing touch to complete your look.  It is also one of the oldest forms of makeup dating back to Ancient Egypt when both men and women alike would adorn themselves with bold black liner.  Go Ancient Guyliner!

The key to getting the look you're going for is choosing the right style of eyeliner for your eyes and the finished look you're trying to achieve. From the natural "no-eyeliner" look, to the Temptress Cat Eye, to the Vintage Wing, to a sultry, smokey eyeliner, Eyeliner can speak volumes about you and your personal style!

Natural “No-Eyeliner” look

For a more natural look you can apply a neutral eye shadow dry such as Wildflowers using your Angled Brow and Liner brush, another natural eyeliner look is to apply your liner foiled by simply dabbing your liner lightly in between your lashes.  This will make your lashes look fuller without looking like you're wearing eyeliner.

Basic Eyeliner
One of the most tried and true eyeliner techniques is a basic liner look.  Start with your Angled Brow and Liner brush at the inner corner of your eye trace the lash line to the outer corner.  For a more dramatic look, widen the line gradually in the center and extend the liner just beyond the lash line at the outer corner.

Vintage Winged Liner

To get a Vintage look, you may want to try winging your liner!
Use your Angled Brow and Liner brush dipped in your favorite mixing medium to apply your liner foiled (wet). Using a steady hand, start at the inner corner of your eye and trace along your lash line making the liner a bit wider as you extend towards the outer corner.  To get that glamorous vintage Wing extend the liner beyond your lashes and flick the line upwards into a swoosh.
To get an even more dramatic pop to your eyes, line your bottom lashes starting at about a third of the way from the inner corner and apply your liner just along the lashline.
Audrey Hepburn would be SO Proud!
**Tip: If you're having trouble steadying your hand, you may want to rest your elbow on your vanity ;)

Smokey Eyeliner

A classic look that will certainly never go out of style is the sultry smokey eye!  To get the smokey look to your liner apply your liner along your lash line dry using your Angled Brow and Liner brush.  Then, using your Everyday Eye Smudge Brush go over your liner a few times to blend it out and create that fade-out smudged look.

The Temptress Cat Eyeliner
For the boldest of the bold and look that’s oh so sexy, the Cat Eye look is for you; simply start your liner at the very inner corner of your top lid and follow the lash line as close as possible all the way to the outer corner of your eye.   Extend the liner just beyond your lash line.  Repeat for the bottom lashes and connect the liner at the inner and outer corners.  For a more dramatic look apply slightly thicker to the outer corners.

** Tip: Pulling at the outer corner of your eye can lead to premature wrinkles, you may want to try holding your eye taught using a q-tip pressed firmly to your lid :)

One of the greatest things about EM is that you can apply any eyeliner, eye shadow, or brow color as an eyeliner. Playing with bright colored liner can be a super fun way to glam up your look when you're going out!  From a touch of fuchsia with my Rock Anthem eye shadow, to a dash of blue using Free Wheelin' Denim;  mixing it up with color can really make your look wild!

So experiment away ladies (and gents) and Stay Fabulous! :)
