Last week, I mapped out my path to all of Austin’s local wine vineyards and began my quest to explore the wonderful world of wine tasting at The Texas Hill Country Wine Trail!
For those of you who didn’t know, Texas has an incredibly Wine Country that is located deep in the heart of Texas Hill Country.
Taking a tour of Texas Wine Country is so much fun, whether you’re a local or traveling through Texas on a vacay.
TexasWineTrail.com is so handy in mapping out potential wine paths that you can take, making your planning process that much easier!
All of the participating wineries host tastings of new wines, along with food pairings and seminars. So cool! Plus, all of the trails are self-guided, so you can enjoy each winery without feeling like you have to rush and keep up with a group.
So leisurely!
They even have a map with the location of all of the local wineries on their website.
Wineries are just so relaxing and peaceful, they make for such a fun retreat!
Me and my hubby had a lot of fun planning our route, and in the end we decided to explore four local wineries: Spicewood Vineyards, Stonehouse Vineyard, Flat Creek Estate, and McReynolds Wines.
Last week, we decided to indulge in a day of wine tasting with a few friends (and a designated driver, of course!) Check out our route below :)
Spicewood Vineyards is located in Spicewood, TX and has a great selection of award-winning wines, as well as a beautiful veranda where we picnicked while sipping on a delicious Chardonnay.
From there, our next stop was Stonehouse Vineyards, which is just gorgeous. Located on Lake Travis, this winery is so picturesque. A mid-afternoon sip of a delicious Shiraz was a lovely addition to our wine trail!
After Stonehouse, we moved on to Flat Creek Estate - what fantastic scenery! With over 20 acres of wines, this winery was definitely one of my favorites. So completely charming.
Our last stop for the day was McReynolds Wines, and in a word I would describe this final stop as “quaint.” Very mom-and-pop winery, and so adorable. Small and cozy and the perfect intimate way to end the day!
Such a fun summertime activity!
The shade of my Super Smoocher lippie is reminiscent of a rich red wine, a berry kiss on a warm day! :)
If any of you are currently in Texas, there is a special “Movie in the Vineyard” tonight, August 20, at Duchman Family Winery. Located in Driftwood, they are screening “Sideways” - love this one!! - the movie starts at 8:30 PM and is free admission!
Click here for more info :)
One of the things on my “bucket list” is stomping grapes at a winery - I am definitely going to do this soon. Remember the episode of “I Love Lucy” where she stomps the grapes? Hilarious!!
FUN TASK:
What is one of the items on your own “bucket list” that you’ve achieved recently?
I’ll send my Super Smoocher and this sleek 6-piece stemless wine glass set (with a cool glass decanter and funnel) from CB2 to a few of my favorites!

I had a great time at Disney and Universal Studios. I loved the rides and the shows. I spent about a week there, and it's definitely not enough. I would go back if there's a chance.

I gave birth to my beautiful, perfect son and embarked on this mad adventure called parenthood.
Quite frankly, it puts everything else I've ever done in the shade. :-)

It was the most terrifying totally out there thing that I have ever done. It is pretty much where you stick your hands in holes and try to get a catfish to bite!

The pictures are so beautiful, so relaxing, what gorgeous scenery.
I have after alot of hard work and effort encouraged my friend to be more eco friendly, this person used to use loads of hair spray and was lets say not very enviroment aware, i have encouraged her to be more natural, use alternative products, she has changed her light bulbs, brought herself a canvas bag and is recycling things.
i have started to cycle everywhere and it is so much fun.
