Today, I thought I'd devote my blog to one of my favorite places of my home... my closet.
Eva Longoria has so much closet space, it seems she needs a ladder to reach all of her fabulous goodies!
Let's start by taking a peek inside a few other celebrity closets, so that we can all drool with envy :)
Nicole Richie looks so teeny tiny amongst all of her clothes - it's a good thing she has her pomeranian Foxxy Cleopatra to keep her company!
Look how beautiful Jessica Alba looks next to all of her incredible shoes. It's so cool how for each pair, one shoe is faced heel first and one shoe is faced toe first. I'd love to spend an afternoon trying all of those beauties on!
I just adore the design of Nicky Hilton's closet. From the dark hardwood floors to the clear glass closet doors and neon hangers, this space just screams chic luxury.
I love the natural aspect of fresh cut flowers in a vase on her drawers!
Some of us may feel that the closets of these celebrities are the size of our homes or apartments, but to be fair, most of the time they are :)
I really feel that it's not about how much space we have in our closet, but what we do with that space. Staying organized is key! Every few months, I like to clean out my closet and spend a few hours going through all of my clothing and accessories and determining what I really wear and need to keep.
Yes, I do keep certain garments that I don't wear on a daily basis for nostalgia, but I really believe it's important to donate clothes that are gathering dust to a charity organization or a homeless shelter, so that someone in need can really benefit from them.
One super stylish way to keep my shoes organized that a friend of mine introduced me to is Closet Fetish. Their Couture Shoebox is to die for!

With all of these tips, it's important to not get carried away. I mean, how does someone even have this many different colored sweaters to color-code?? :)
If I had my way, my dream closet would look something like this:
Less of a traditional closet and more of a relaxing showroom for all of my clothes, or as I like to call them, my old friends. Such a cool vibe, right?
With all of these visions of pristine and beautifully organized closets dancing around in my head, I began thinking about some of my all-time favorite closets.
Carrie's closet on "Sex and the City" always seemed to be brimming with the most outrageously gorgeous garments.
Remember when Big showed Carrie her new closet in the "Sex and the City" movie?
Heaven! I also love the scene from "The Devil Wears Prada" when Nigel (Stanley Tucci) takes Andy (Anne Hathaway) through Runway Magazine's expansive closet.
"Chanel, you're in desperate need of Chanel" :)
Overall, my biggest tip is to be aware of every article of clothing and every accessory that you have in your closet, because remember... this is where your precious clothes live most of the year!

I really love this closet. I love how the walls are all glass and you can see right in. I guess with this one though you would have to keep your dirty chones picked up

I love this mission style furniture. I would love to have my closet done up in mission style. I would love for their to be plenty of space for my shoes. I am drooling over all of those shoes that you have showed us.I would also love for their to be some drawers that are flat faced and have a smooth pull to them, most should be pretty shallow however their should be a few deeper ones. If there is enough room, I would love to be able to put a sewing machine in the corner. I love to make and design my own clothes so this would be a blast!

and I could even do it for my closet. Organizing a closet is so important and it can make you life so much easier, especially when it comes to finding clothes. I think that I may end up painting the white though, to me white isso bleh, it does look nice and clean but I need something to make me feel more lively, maybe red?

I would love a closet that was its own room (large and spacious) so I could layout all my things and be able to not have to search for them when I would want to wear them. All areas would be equal in size for my necessities (shoes, clothes, jewelry). I would even put a vanity to brush up on my Everyday Minerals. Another must in this closet would be mirrors... one large enough to see all of my head to toe and with enough panels to extend a 360 degree look. It might even be nice to provide a wall for each season, that way I will never have to move stuff around when a new season arrives.

I would like a closet with several mirrors so that I could check my look from different angles... and to make the closet seem bigger. The walls and floor would be in clear wood, very luminous. I would also like many plants in it and a two or three big comfy white armchairs. Of course, there would be table with mirror where I could make up. And don't forget a radio to make the room lively... and so that I can dance while trying my clothes XD

My dream closet wouldn't have a single item of clothing. It would house an unending supply of hand-spun, hand-dyed yarns so I could knit to my hearts content.

My closet would have to be filled with tons of clothes, okay, I admit it. I love clothes. I just counted how many jeans I have the other day and it came to 20!!!
Now ask if I wear them all....

I try to wear the same outfit as little as possible I have a certain look going, but I have so many different options as far as outfits... so my dream closet would be filled (and would not have my husbands clothes in it lmbo) He could have his own dream closet- this one is MINE!
I would have a wall of shoes, wall of accessories (belts, scarves, hats and bags)
Cute summer dressses that aren't too short, just something for lazy hot days, oh it would be glutinous but amazing.
...and, It would have a series of full lenth mirrors at the end so I could check my outfit head to toe every time I left the house
...AND my dream closet would have a fluff n fold built in so I would not have to do my own laundry ever ever ever again...
(whether my husband wanted it or not- he would have a built in fluff n fold too)
Okay... back to reality and back to the laundry...

i need light in my closet so i would ensure that my closet has tons of pretty chandeliers and two big sitting chairs and an easel so i can escape and daydream, paint or read in my little sanctuary. i would have dresses and coats on one side and pants and tops in a stacked rod thing and the other half would be drawers with my jewelery.
i love the idea of the shoe boxes, but i have so many boots that i doubt many would fit in the boxes haha so i would have shelves built in for my shoes and boots and then to display my hats i would have glass or wire heads on a shelf around the top.
umm.... but i think that what i have described here would be the size of my apt. lol
maybe i should just turn my apt into a closet!!

I really love this look with the doors and how it is in the bathroom. I'm assuming that there is a beautiful section set up with a mirror and amazing lighting for me to apply my Everyday Minerals makeup!! That is definitely a must for me in my closet/getting ready area!! This just looks like an amazing room (not small my like closet at all! lol)
Two of my lucky friends have dream closets! One has a celebrity closet like some of the pictures!! Shoes in perfect rows! She LOVES to shop! My other friend has a beautiful closet off of her master bathroom. The master bathroom is the most amazing bathroom I've ever seen that leads into this very long closet with rows and rows of clothes and even a washer & dryer in the closet so that she doesn't have to go all the way downstairs to do laundry! How fun is that!? As much as I'm jealous of their closets...I don't even have that much clothes to fill it! lol I'm working on that though!! They are helping with my shopping
And so is Fan Club with all of the amazing tips! I'm going shoe shopping this weekend! Hope I find some gorgeous pairs!

If I could have my dream closet, it would be huge!...and I am not sharing with my hubby (he can keep my dresser). The walls would be a sage green because it's such a friendly color and I plan on speding a lot of time in there. My closet would absolutely have to have windows and maybe a sky light too. I love natural light and I think it's so important to see yourself in true light, while picking your outfit. There would be an entire wall for my shoes (who doesn't love shoes) and a cute library type ladder to reach the top shelves. I would also have a section with pull out drawers for jewelry (like in the Princess Diarys)...I can hear the angels sing now.

I would want an automatic rotating closet... it'll be a HUGE closet... and i'll put them into categories... there will be an area with rotating shoes... and rotating tops and rotating pants/skirts below the tops.... on and of course a section for dresses and accessories 
... something like they had on 2 weeks notice with sandra bullock.. i wouldn't mind a computer customizing design to randomly pick outfits for me to wear each day..

I think I'd have a automatic electric wardrobe. Which will have connection with the weather outside. When its hot outside, then my wardrobe would come out with summerdresses or shorts or t-shirts. With matching accesories, bags and shoes ofcourse. And when it will be cold outside, then my electronic wardrobe would come out with sweaters and other thick clothes. with caps and gloves. Wow, that sounds so cool!
It would also be cool if I could change the layout or colour of my wardrobe whenever I felt like. Imagine if I felt romantic one day, then the wardrobe would turn pink. Sounds fun! Because your wardrobe is a part of your lifestyle !

My dream closet would look very similar to all the girls above but.......would also have an area that is entirely devoted to my makeup and skin care. I mean lets face it....when i get ready the first thing i do is put body lotion on all over, a spritz of perfume and then get dressed so wouldn't it be nice to have the skin care regimen right there with clothes and to take it a step further...i could look at my EDM eyeshadows in close proximity to my shirts and sweaters.....

My house WAS a 3 bedroom. It's now a 2 bedroom with a large walk in closet. I converted a room into a closet. I hung bars and metal shelving along with a large cabinet and some build it yourself shelves and drawers. It's very organized yet still not big enough. My shoes need a lot more room.

Mirrors! I would love to have walls of mirrors and the closets would be lined up along the sides, some with pull out drawers, some with shelves for clothing and shoes, and some with rods to hang the niceties!
But when all the doors were closed it would resemble a dance studio. Love that simple look.

In my dream closet, I would like to have it be big and spacious and organized. I want it to have a window to bring in some natural light. The back wall will have shelving that showcases shoes and handbags with lighting to highlight the display like in a store. I would like to have one of those 360 mirrors so I see what my outfit looks like from all angles. I want my hangars to all be the same and everything to have it's place (I hate when I can't find a piece that I am looking for). I would like little cubby shelves and drawers so I have a place for photos, trinkets, and my shoebox of letters.

My dream closet needs to have a most important feature: a see-through glass cabinet with shelves to display all my BAGS!!! My totes, my clutches, my purses, my little lady handbags, my sports sacks, my gym bags, my shoe bags, my sling bags... I NEED TO DISPLAY ALL MY BAGS!!! I have a massive handbag collection and I would love to have them all showcased like that

Growing up I didn't have any closet, only an 18 inch space in a wardrobe so any large closet would be great for me. I would love to have a dedicated room for a closet, but most of all I would want it to be organized. All of the shirts together and color coordinated, all of the same pants together by color would be a dream. A place for shoes, makeup storage and drawers to hide all of my extra clutter would be great. To top it off, a skylight and easy chair and I would be all set!

I'd love to have a room dedicated to clothes and.. to shoes, with many shelves for shoes as Jessica Alba!
I know that if I had enough space I'd like something with light colors and glass sliding doors.. something that bring both light and a natural mood:

OK So I am very modest lol..but I already have a few ideas...
Something like this would do..lol this is mariah's closet
This is her shoes section of the closet:
I love that is white because the coloros of the clothes stands out!
But if I want to be more realistic this would do but in white and add another shoes shelf:
O my...maybe I will forget kids after all and start working on my walk-in closet design...
