Jill Sobule may have said it best in her infectious song "Supermodel" from the soundtrack of one of my favorite movies, Clueless: "I don't care what my teachers say..I wanna be a supermodel."
It's the dream of so many little girls to grow up and become a leggy, famous supermodel and on the same note, the world has been fascinated with these goddess-like girls since the rise of the term "supermodel" in the '90s.
The world's top supermodels of the '90s all appeared in the glamorous music video for George Michael's tune "Freedom '90." Linda Evangelista, Cindy Crawford, Naomi Campbell, Claudia Schiffer, Christy Turlington..doesn't get any better than this.
Today, there are three supermodels that always catch my eye, whether it's their killer runway walk, savage editorial presence, or effortlessly cool off-duty style: Anja Rubik, Sasha Pivovarova and Natasha Poly.
Besides being gorgeous, Anja has an exotic versatility that makes her one of the most in-demand models in the world. I can't get enough of this editorial spread she shot for Vogue Paris' February 2010 issue.
So edgy - I'm obsessed.
To get Rubik's eye look here, I would totally mix the matte Black Eyeliner (add a drop of water for catlike precision) with a hint of Carina's new Prettier in Pink eyeshadow.
Anja's street style is always on-point, a quirky mix of eccentric pieces and chic femininity.
Now on to Sasha Pivovarova. That face..it's like beautiful, tiny porcelain doll. Her recent zany spread in the February 2010 issue of Interview really caught my eye.
It's part whimsical, part creepy, and totally original.
When Sasha's off-duty, her style choices are daring and inventive.
Rounding out my dream-team supermodel trifecta is Natasha Poly.
From her chiseled bone structure and unmistakable come-hither glances, I am all about Natasha. Loving her editorial spread from the April 2010 issue of Numéro Tokyo.
So simple and so chic.
When she's off-duty, Natasha's street style is always impeccable.
Love those cat eye sunglasses and that glitzy mini.

I'd probably pick one of the models that seem to live a pretty normal life like liya kebede, wife, mother of two, has her own business, humanitarian work, that kind of style. And walk for a givenchy couture show then have dinner with tom ford.

Well, I guess I would love love love to do a classic défilé such as CHANEL , a more rock n' roll one such as Victor & Rolf, Stella Mc Cartney and definiteky a crazy one like : Vivienne Westwood , John Galiano & Jean-Paul Gauthier.

If I were supermodel of the day, I'd walk in the Chanel show, of course! Because, as Nigel put it so accurately in "The Devil Wears Prada," I'm in desperate need of Chanel. I wouldn't even need to be paid in cash; I'd just say, "Pay me in Chanel bags and clothes, please." Linda Evangelista won't wake up for less than $10K? I'm easier to please. Just one Chanel item gets me up and running.
As for editorials, one of my favorites is the December 2003 "Alice in Wonderland" shoot in Vogue shot by Annie Leibovitz and starring Natalia Vodianova. Since I have magically become genetically gifted and have become supermodel for the day (damn my short stature), I also have the power to turn back time and do that shoot in her place!
After that, I'd hit up any party hosted by Marc Jacobs because I hear he throws the most reDONKulous bashes, particularly his Halloween party (I think my invitation last year got lost in the mail...yeah, that's it). I'd go all out like Heidi Klum with my costume--to the point that I'm not even recognizable.
Because I only get to be a supermodel for one day, I'd take the chance to be greedy and make requests on the level of J.Lo and her all-white demands. I want Jo Malone candles everywhere, VOSS water, Sprinkles cupcakes, Laduree Macarons, and someone to tell me at regular intervals that I am "really, really good-looking."

Definitely Doutzen Kroes. She's not working much these days, but I love that she's beautiful and statuesque without looking...peculiar. And she looks more like my size, versus size 00.

okay so I would be the queen bee. Of course I would have to have a personal driver for a hot pink hummer (not very green I know but it is only for a day). They would have to drive me around everywhere that I wanted to go and here is where I would go:
I would go to denny;s for breakfast, sad I know but I love that place

1)Sleep in and make sure that all of my events do not start before 2. My bed will have to have 1200 thread count sheets made of Egyptian Cotton and a very fluffy and fuzzy blanket. Heaven!
2)I would then get out of bed, brush my teeth and head out to my photoshoot. I do not want anyone to see me like this so I would cover up. Once I got to my photo shoot for Vogue Magazine I would let the stylists have at it. They would have to do me totally up. I would have a pretty normal day. I think though that I would love to just go and have fun. I would love to go to disney land but I would ask them If I could get to the front of the lines lol. I have never been there before but I have always wanted to. After that, I am sure that I would be pretty stressed from a long day in the sun so I would go to the spa Le Petite Retreat. I have hear some pretty great things about them!

On my dream day I would love to go to Hawaii. I have always wanted to go there. I would love to do a photoshoot on the warm sand. I want it to be an edgy photoshoot that I could show my true personality. After the photo shoot I would just lay out on the beach sipping margaritas.

My favorite supermodel of all time since I can remember has been Gia Carangi. Who is no longer with us... but I would go back in time and love to be her.
Shooting with Helmut Newton for French Vogue, walking the runways for Chanel and shooting campaigns for Dior. And let's not forget having your makeup done by the genius that was Way Bandy and having Wilhelmina Cooper as your mother-figure.
Bowie Kid by day and Studio 54 superstar by night, draped in Halston or YSL and rubbing shoulders with Bianca Jagger and Marisa Berenson while sharing a cocktail with Andy Warhol.
My only ridiculous demand would be that John Taylor of Duran Duran would be my escort to every party... and hold my umbrella if it rains while walking in downtown Manhattan.

Waking up in my loft in NYC, I would start off walking in the shows of my favorite designers: Chanel, DVF and Alexander Wang. After these fab shows I would spend the day lunching with a signature chic 'model off duty' ensemble and shopping at all of the amazing vintage shops in Soho looking for unique pieces to add to my closet. After lunch is my photo shoot where I am shooting a whimsical editorial for Vogue shot by Patrick Demarchelier. The shoot includes flowing gowns and sky high pumps. At the end of the day I will head to dinner with my girlfriends and then finish the night at a small chic club in the city, dancing the night away in my leopard mini and Louboutin ankle boots!

oh how cool. i love these fantasy world questions. in a dreamland i would be a supermodel and be fabulous all the time! i would choose to start my day at 3pm no earlier, as i would have quite a social life going to amazing parties and the hottest hot spots. i would love to walk in marc jabobs shows and some givenchy as well and certainly have to sport some of those fabulous tranny heels and would always ask for a spread of fresh fruits and veggies (gotta keep the super model figure, right?)

I would LOVE to walk the runway at a Channel show- that would be my top priority, then I would also have to include Vera Wang, Prada and Valentino.
I would HAVE to have Fiji water, and tons of king size snickers bars (I wouldnt actually eat them but I would take them and leave all the wrappers so there would be a buzz about how I could eat so much and stay so thin...) you know... just to mess with people...
I would spend half my days (after all my photoshoots and appearances) shopping for vintage treasures and new fabulous creations, and in the evenings I would dine at the best restaurants and go to nightclubs.

This was such a fun post! Love it!
I would have a great time being a Supermodel I would go to all the parties and clubs, but I would also make sure to always be prompt to my photoshoots, because I think it is ultra rude to keep people waiting... I think I would like to be a bit "eccentric" as a Supermodel, wear the most daring cutting edge creations, and INSANE makeup. I would stomp down the runway at D&G, Dior, and Christian Audiger shows. I would have a rocker edge to me , like I do now... but glam it up 2 the xtreme. What's the use of being a supermodel if you don't get attention!

I would live in NYC, get in great with ALL the designers so they would all love me and want to use me. I wouldn't make any demands per say but if I could make a couple requests, I would like Coca Cola... though I am not sure how many supermodels ever drink coke, I LOVE Coca Cola. I also love sandwiches, so I would request some sandwiches for if I got hungry.
I would probably want a private jet so I could jet set off to Europe whenever I wanted... and would definitely want to be on the cover of Vogue and Vanity Fair.

I would spend my day off undercover, at a table outside of a small cafe or thrifting somewhere in LA. I would walk in a Stella McCartney fashion show (pretty hair and flirty dresses anyone?) and be apart of an editorial styled by Grace Coddington. The gardens of Versailles perhaps? I'd wear an outfit similar to something Miss Kate Lanphear would don and hide behind a pair of black Ray Bans. My only ridiculous demand would be a plate of sushi and some lemon water.

Photoshoots, photoshoots, photoshoots!!! I am an aspiring photographer BECAUSE of the gorgeous editorial shoots I research daily. I would to model for a fabulous photographer, Giles Bensimon, Patrick Demarchelier, Troy Jensen, Nick Saglimbeni.. all so amazing. I would want to work with a fab stylist such as yourself, Monica Rose, Reinaldo Irizarry, or the fab RZ & Brad. Gorgeous hair & makeup, and tons of my favorite fashion to play in all day, great music to dance to, yummy lunch at break time. Simple & Beautiful, that would be my perfect model day

My favorite supermodel will always be Linda Evangelista. She is/was the epitome of edgy chic/muse/chameleon able to transform herself with sculptural body angles and new hair colors and cuts always ahead of the curve. She was also amazing at conveying kinetic energy for maximum photographic drama.
I would die to be her any day of the late 80's or early 90's!
As her I would get to be muse to and collaborate with some of the world's most talented photographers and create striking images such as:
With Peter Lindbergh: Fantasy flight in black and white
With Steven Meisel: Dramatic and ethereal
and with Herb Ritts: Graphic and architectural
Then I would be able to upstage Isaac Mizrahi in his Unzipped documentary as an uber bitchy supermodel with quotes like these:
" Isaac why do you ALWAYS give me the flat shoes and Naomi Campbell the high heels?? Every single time! You gave me SLIPPERS for the finale last year! Do you have something against white women?"
to Isaac: "I have a cramp in my foot and you don't care!!!!"
to a boom operator always following her: "SWEETIE, SWEETIE! You always have that microphone in my f***ing face!"
Even when Linda was bad she was good. She was definitely the bomb and had the clout to be selective on what she wanted to do.

If I were a supermodel for a day, I would do a beach photo shoot in Bora Bora. Since I will probably never have the opportunity to go there, I want to make the most of my fantasy. I would have the best room and I would have my personal assistant hide all the food (because I don't think supermodels get to eat

Anja is AMAZING. I actually just posted that editorial with the snakes on my blog the other day. It still blows my mind no matter how many times i see it. Kate Moss was obviously the queen bee in the 90s. That woman pulled off anything and everything (she still does) ...and she did it all being 5'7". I'd have to say though, hands down, my favorite model of right now is definitely Freja Beha Erichsen. I have such a girl crush on her, probably because she looks like a gorgeous boy. She rocks the edgy, androgynous look to perfection. I love that she's the current face of Chanel and she has 9+ tattoos. Not to mention her street style is absolutely amazing, between all the black and leather... I could go on forever.
But let's see... I think if i had the luxury of being a supermodel for a day, I'd start off by waking up in one of those amazing plush white terry cloth robes (I always wanted one of those) and I'd probably demand really random things like Voss water, the perfect selection of Thai food and sushi, my giant box of Nag Champa incense sticks burning at all times, watermelon sour patch kids, etc. etc.
As for editorials, I think anything shot by Steven Meisel would make me a happy camper. You could do all the styling ;o) (I died for all your outfits on the show. I can recall you wearing two things that gave me mini panic attacks in my body: an amazing Tom Binns necklace... and those thigh high Louboutins. Dead.) Anyway what else... Sasha is my favorite! Her face is so unique and her presence is so strong and I just love her personal style. Although I don't think she'd be able to rock sweats like Anja does in that picture!
If I were a supermodel for a day..hmm..
I would love to walk Alexander McQueen(rip) because from all the pictures/videos I've ever seen from his shows they are so bizarre yet wonderfully brilliant. It's more like watching a production in the making than watching a fashion show. Chanel would also be a show I would love love love to walk. So classic, elegant, timeless. Not much else to say! I think I would be happy to walk any runway show though, just to have a great designer allowing me to broadcast their collection for the first time..such an honor!
Besides that I would love to just mingle with other models/designers/stylists/bloggers/etc..anyone in the fashion world. Just gaining insight on the fashion world and the different perspectives would be fascinating.

First thing I would do is have a team stylists at my house and follow me everywhere to make sure I am always at my best! Off to Disney world where I pose with all the characters! Then off to the beach for a swim suit calender. Then off to a run way in New York! And of course with every shoot I do I get the clothes I wear free and I want a box of gobstoppers at everyone along with a masseuse to make sure I am limber to make all my poses. and the best of all is I want some eye candy fanning me at every shoot I am at. And of course my team of styles will make me up for an evening on the town with Jonny Dep!! 
Then off to the after parties with Tyra Banks and Kate Moss!!!

If I was super model for a day I would love to go to an orphanage and to a photo shoot with the children and then do a benefit runway show for the kids. the children get to rarely do things like that so i would give the kids lessons on how to walk and then let them be the super models for a day!

If I were a supermodel for a day, I would walk in Lara Stone's shoes. She has an amazing shape, which still allows her to walk for various designers while having womanly curves. She's my favorite model at the moment but if I were to be a fictional supermodel, I would make sure to save all of my money, gladly accept fashionable gifts from the fabulous fashion houses I work with and then when I'm too old to model I would pull a Tyra, and capitalize off of television and scandal to keep the cash flowing in. I'd make sure to get a rockstar beau out of it also.

1)Do something for the community that I grew up in. I think that it is important to give back to where you came form to help make it a better place.
2) I would do a runway show, I have always wanted to experience that. The thrill, the excitement, the chaos.
3) I would do something naughty so that I could get away with it. Something that if the average person did it they would get in trouble but since it was me they would just look the other way! I would also want to only drink water from sweden!

If I got the live the life of a supermodel for one day (and really, what girl wouldn't), I think I would fist of all, like to appear in a photospread for a magazine like Pop or a magazine similar to it. I would want to walk in a Paris Fashion Week show like Isabel Marant or my favorite, Alexander Wang. An Alexander Wang after-party would also be pretty amazing because I'd meet other models like, my favorites, Erin Wasson and Dree Hemingway. It would be a perfect way to end the day because I'd be meeting everyone in a laid=back senario where everyon is fashionable and ready to have a good time. I'd love it....But now you have me hard-core dreaming of this never happening day!!!!

I would want to pose for an entirely organic line and a "Being Green" editorial. Not only is it THE most fab shade but green lifestyle is good for you and the environment all the clothing would be styled from pieces of nature, perhaps it could have a Garden of Eden feel, and leaves, branches, just totally natural!

OMG - LOVE IT!!!!
I would make ridiculous demands like only blue M&Ms, and trail mix with the raisins and peanuts picked out.
and pre-peeled Kiwis, Fiji water with icecubes made from Fiji Water.
Blackberries, Raspberries, and cherries (pitted)
Grated carrots, and grated cucumbers.
Coffe with 1 sugar 2 creams, but when they gave it to me, I would tell them that I said 2 sugars 1 cream.
I would love to be difficult just for the sake of being difficult.... and at some point I would have to throw my phone at someone (not AT AT... like in their general direction) and then make them buy me a new one...

If i were a model this is what my schedule will look like:
10 am Wake up, get ready
11 am do editorial shoot for Vogue Magazine wearing high fashion clothes
12:30 pm Lunch
1 pm interview and photoshoot with Vanity Fair
3 pm Appear at a movie junket (unfortunately can't stay for the movie becasue of.....
4 pm rehearsal for the the night's runway show ( I have to make sure that my dressing room has evian water, aroma candles, sofa with fluffy pillows, a cd player with my favourite cds on a rack arranged in alphabetical order and a full length mirror so I can practice my poses) At this time I will also make sure that my make up artist is using Everyday Minerals for my make up and consult him/her about what look would be good for the night. In addition as a top model I demand to be the person to start the show with a set in the middle and the last model.
6 pm dinner at a high end resturant where they serve my favourite food
7 pm Do the actual show which is the TOKYO GIRLS COLLECTION

Oh man, to be a supermodel? I think I would get all of my girlfriends to go out around NY to shop!!! We’d take a limo and have most of it filled with shopping bags, my treat. Later, we would meet up with our men to head over to the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, where I would do a quick walk as an Angel. My family would be there as well to support me. Then we’d all take a private jet back to Chicago. Then my SO, Kyle, and I would have a private, romantic dinner set up on the Ledge of the Sears Tower. At the end of my day, I would of course make sure to send some generous donations to my favorite charities, such as Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, March of Dimes, and Pancreatic Cancer Action Network. It would be a wonderful day full of laughter and love surrounded by those that mean the most to me.
