Moving is something I do way too often, but yet again I find myself relocating into a new pad. Who wants to help me move?
I wonder if FedEx would let me deliver myself in that photo above...maybe I’d have to call a courier?
The first step of moving is the dreaded packing process. I groan just thinking about it, but the key is staying organized. Label your boxes so that you can clearly recognize what room the contents belong in. Or take a cue from my handbook and label each box according to designer: all of my Chanel bags in one box!

Once you’re packed..it’s time to move it out. Whether you’re hiring a moving service or having your friends give you a hand, moving is always stressful. After everything has been moved into your new spot, start doing inventory. What goes where? Arrange your boxes by room and go from there.
On my first night in my new place, all I had was a comforter and a parka to sleep in!

My best friend slept over to keep me company..you know a true friend when they’re willing to sleep on the floor with you!
As I let you know in my Style For The Home blog, making sure I have a cool design at home is crucial. I’m still into keeping my color scheme black, white, dove grey and plum..and bold patterns like stripes and florals will definitely play a big part in my design process.
As you know, I am obsessed with anything that interior design extraordinaire Kelly Wearstler does..using these photos of spaces she’s worked on as inspiration.

Love wallpaper!!
A new location can completely revitalize your life, and bring you a new outlook, new neighbors, or even a new sense of style. I’m planning on converting one bedroom in my new place into a home office - I feel soo grown-up!!
Now I have to get back to unpacking..this move has been quite intense. This week’s blog is short and sweet..hope you enjoyed it. I’ve just been so hectic dealing with my new spot and being on set for 14 hour days!
FUN TASK:
What is the most memorable place you’ve lived? Was it a crammed one-bedroom apartment, a sorority house, or your first home with your partner? I love story time..
A few of my fav stories are going to get Carina’s new Art Girl eye shadow and Hue by Kelly Wearstler.

My friends had just moved in, and I had a summer free, so I thought, why not? We all slept in sleeping bags and big futons for a while, but we eventually fixed it all up to make it more like home. There was a street full of great hole in the wall restaurants and bars nearby, so you could wake up, walk a few yards, and say hi to all the people setting up for the day. So much fun! It was a cramped place, ONE bathroom, but it had a few pieces of old furniture that had a lot of charm (an a few dusty framed pics someone left behind...it was sort of creepy). There were a ton of artists in the area, so you'd end up meeting a lot of sculptors, painters, metal workers, etc., who had showings outside and indoors. Although it's not a place I'd love to live in forever, it was great for a while.
Good luck with your move! written by lambsareme, August 03, 2010

I think it really does make the move worth it. My favorite place is the place I live in now. It makes it so easy for potty training lol. My little one does not have to walk up and down stairs to go potty woohoo

We had an amazing two years there experiencing college! We would walk to kareoke night every week, have wine nights, watch tv on a television the size of my palm, and of course we had a lot of study sessions.
Unfortunately, it's mostly memorable because of a flood that disrupted our fun. We had to live in this little apartment while carpet was being replaced and everything was being redone. We slept on the corners of beds that were covered in our things, trying to stay dry. It was miserable. But her and I experienced it together and always had each other's shoulder to lean on.
I miss her dearly and don't know if I could ever have another roommate after our amazing time in that tiny apartment!

) weeks. Of course it was the best time of my life, we have no place to take the shower, to wash our hands...Just sea and LOVE. and love, love, love. BUT several days later it began to rain, it was raining for nearly the week, and we were not able to leave that place as our parents should had come later with the car to take us home and at that time we did not have the mobiles. So, our sleeping bags were floating in the water, everything was wet, pillows, clothes, food etc. It was terrible. The tent we have been living in I will remember for all my life. It was the worst and the best at the same time place to live in.
Now, when I am 25, I am thinking about these times with a smile, now I am not able to repeat such a heroic deed, but at that time I was ready to follow my belowed men to the ends of the earth.
Heh, such a story... I

We rented a one bedroom apartment. I loved that it had a laundry room inside the apartment instead of lugging our laundry to a common laundry area. The apartment was tiny but I like to call it "cozy".
We lived there for a couple of years before we were able to save up for a single family house. It was a great apartment!

I have to say the first time I moved to big cities really shocked me! I used to live at country side, but city life is quite different from country side. You'll enjoy more relax and easygoing life in country side than busy life in the cities!

I loved my apartment in Taiwan. Yes, the landlady was awful and left smokestains on the wall when I moved in and then stole my computer which I couldn't do anything about because I spoke Chinese. But it was the first place that was really mine, with no roommates, furniture I had picked out, floor to ceiling windows overlooking the Loop Road (the main road in the town I was in), and it was over the best breakfast place I have ever been to.
Despite landlady madness, I hated leaving that place.

Even though that's my official first house that I live in besides with my family, my most memorable house will be in Florida where I was born (but California lovin' forever). It was a huge one-story house but with high ceilings and a marble kitchen top. It had the hugest backyard ever. Really, it was shared space because it was behind a bunch of other houses but in a circle formation? It even had a small lake down there. Next door, there was an extension to the house with a pool and gym equipment with a little dog who always barked at me whenever I went outside. It was the most beautiful house ever, to me.

My first place in this city was what I called My Hobbit Hole. It was a basement apartment (never again), but was newly renovated and clean. It had one half window, which meant I pretty much had S.A.D. all year. Not only was I living in darkness, none of my friends would come visit because the ceiling was about 5'6" high. I am 5'1" and I could do cartwheels in the place! But none of my friends fit, so I never had company. And I was pretty much an exterminator because I had surprise roommates in the form of spiders (big, small, creeepy, crawly) and centipedes (these buggers move fast!). I sometimes worked the night shifts and got home at 8am, but my upstairs neighbor loved to play Celine Dion at 9am or some strange instrumental mix that I dubbed Exotic Porn on his boombox. I don't think I had a decent night's sleep in that house. Best part ever though - my landlord installed a coin laundry/dryer machine that magically did not take my quarters, yet still washed and dried my clothes. That was the only highlight of this forsaken place.
I will never look for a place to live in desperation again. Everything - much like dating - looks good when you're desperate.

I would have friends over, and we would have so much fun, and boys were not allowed in.
It was very cosy, and place where we had so much fun.

But after that I just loved it. To buy all my own furniture and decorate in crazy colours. Painted the bath room lime green and one wall was orange. Yep, I was all about bright colours! I had two bright red small tables, a blue sofa and so on. And because I lived right in the middle of the city my place was usually the perfect stop before and after partying, so there was always sth going on. Oh, those were the days!

After I had already signed the lease with my best friend from college, my boyfriend at the time informed me that the big Victorian-looking house that I was going to be living in was originally a turn-of-the-century hospital that was supposedly haunted. Eep!
The lease started on August 1, which is when I moved in. My roommate wasn’t planning on moving in until the middle of the month. He did, however, move a few things in early with the help of his parents. His mother, upon seeing our apartment said, “You’re in the basement. This must have been where the morgue was.” Double eep!!! I think I slept with the lights on every night for those two weeks before my roommate officially moved in.
Adding to the creep factor, although not of the haunted variety, was the parking lot and back entrance. There was only one light in the entire parking lot, and it was in a far back corner, so most of the lot itself was dark. There was also a storage building that was right in front of the back door, making that area even MORE dark, making it an excellent spot for a Jack the Ripper wannabe to hide. We also had an unreliable hallway light that meant I went from a dark parking lot, to an even darker entryway, into a still darker hallway (in a haunted former hospital). *shiver*
Setting aside all of that, I’m glad I lived in that (potentially haunted) apartment, even if it was only for a few months. If I hadn’t lived there, I wouldn’t have been able to spend as much time with my boyfriend as I did before he left for Army basic training that October. Without that apartment, I would have been living 3 ½ hours away from him during that time. Considering it took nearly 5 years before we were living in the same time zone again, those two months were a real blessing. That boyfriend is now my fiancé, and we have shared an apartment for two years now (although he spent 6 months of that time away for training – this time for the National Guard).
I might not look back with fondness at my time living in a former hospital because those months were challenging ones for me, but I’m glad I lived there. It’s definitely a place I will never forget.

Mrs.Parker (75 years old) decided to welcome foreign students at her (big) house because she was widow and she felt so alone.
I've to say that when I discovered my "family" was an old woman I felt a little bit scared and embarassed.
I was really, really wrong.
The period I've passed in London was amazing, thanks to Mrs. Parker too.
She was so friendly! Every Morning she prepared a wonderful english breakfast for me with her hands!
She taught me how to improve my English and how to cook the perfect Pudding (I love cooking, so I was so Happy I had a true english cuisine teacher!)
She was an old english woman devoted to traditions! So I lived a very English/London Life, with the 5 o' clock tea, homemade butter biscuits, lots of chats about everyday life and her story.
When I wasn't at school or with friends I often went out with Mrs. Parker who was the best guide to discover London secret places (along with the well-known monuments and attractions).
I wrote to Mrs. Parker some letters when my time in London finished, but, unfortunately I lost contact with her time ago.
But memories of the wonderful period in London are still in my Heart.
Old people can teach to young people that when you fell "young" inside, age doesn't count at all

It has a beautiful swimming pool surrounded by vineyard and lavender fields.
The smell is amazing when all the lavender is collected (harvested? I'm not sure that's correct english).
I have few other houses in France but this one is my favorite cause my husband gave it to me.
I wish I could join a picture.

The most memorable place I've lived is our current home. This fall will be our third year in this house, which is our first home purchase. It feels nice not having to rent anymore and getting to make changes to the place without having to get permission. I've finally gotten off my bottom and got to painting. I've finished half of the house. It's exhausting so I think I will give it a break until next summer. I'm really enjoying making this house a home.
