I’m so excited that ladylike bags are making a comeback for fall!
Here I am with my YSL Muse Two..along with a ton of clothes and garment bags in my office. This bag is just too good.
Lady bags are having quite an impact for the upcoming season..think really feminine, structured and dainty. Total Upper East Side style (very Blair Waldorf) and so wearable.

My “top 5” bags for fall are a mix of old favorites and new classics, as well a modern spin on one of the most coveted bags: the Hermès Kelly bag.
The Kelly Relax is just out of control.
If you aren’t aware, The Kelly bag was named after Grace Kelly in 1956, when she was the Princess of Monaco. She held her favorite Hermès bag (which soon became The Kelly) in front of her stomach when she was pregnant so the paparazzi (yes they did exist back then, if only a tiny fraction of what they are today) couldn’t get a shot of her baby bump.
This even ended up on the cover of Life Magazine, and instantly The Kelly became one of the most coveted bags ever.
I gave The Kelly Relax as a gift to my mom, and she carries it everywhere.
Speaking of classic bags, another one of my top ladylike bags for fall is Louis Vuitton’s The Speedy monogrammed bag. Kind of like a doctor’s bag, it never goes out.
Next on my list is, of course, the YSL Muse Two which I’m holding in the first pic.
Love the structured shape..sooo chic!!
A Balenciaga bag is another all-time classic fav. Here’s a pic of my very first.

This Balenciaga bag is not a really a lady bag..but it’s soooo kick ass. Wish i got this bag 5 years ago!!!
The Proenza Schouler PS 1 bag is my fifth pick for hot fall bags.
The clutch version in this acid yellow shade is so linear and so sought after.
I feel like the PS 1 is going to be such a classic investment bag.
While it’s not one of my top five picks..this super old Zac Posen bag that I found lingering in my closet is perfect for fall.
Love the editorial "She's A Lady" from Marie Claire’s September issue with Mary-Kate Olsen on the cover...they take lady bags to a new level. Each shot is more stunning than the last and I want all of the bags!!
The September issues of all the fashion mags are really stepping up their game this year. So inspiring.
To complete your ladylike look, don’t forget a rosy cheek and a black cat eye. So retro glam. Get these with Carina’s Soft Touch blush and Black Eye Liner.

The ultimate bag for me would have to be Mary Poppins bag! It holds everything you could possibly want or need for whatever occasion but isn't bursting at the seams. With having two young children, I always feel like I am loaded up like a pack horse with all the stuff I have to carry around. It would be great to have a pretty handbag that acted like a Mary Poppins bag. I love taking a pretty handbag with me when I don't need a lot of stuff or if I'm going out for the evening.

My ultimate dream bag has been The Motorcycle City in black by Balenciaga for a long time now.
I start working in September (first job ever! so excited) and I am determined to save up for it. To make it my own I'd tie a shawl around the handles that would compliment my outfit.

If I had to choose ONE ultimate dream bag, it would have to be a Chanel Jumbo or a Maxi in Caviar with gold hard ware. I love that its so feminine, elegant, classy, and just so so pretty. Everything from the quilted leather to the leather chain straps - it just all goes so well together. It's also the perfect size for me since i'm only 5"2, haha. Anything Chanel makes me a happy person!
I really wouldn't know how to make it my own though. If it were a Speedy, I would add a LV scarf to dress it up but I feel like you can't do that with Chanel. Same with Hermes, you just leave it alone! I would also wear these Chanel earrings with an all black outfit (tights with a blazer) to let the accessories speak for themselves.
If not the earrings, I would definitely bust out this YSL Arty ring. I've been obsessed with this ring for the past year or so to the point where I want it in every single color, haha. I usually prefer statement bracelets but I don't know, something about this ring calls out to me. and I do love my gold jewelry! What do you think, Turquoise? Pink? Blue? All so lovely.

It‘s a classic and if I’d own one, I could die happily.
I know that this will rather silly, but I feel that owning one is like joining a secret club.
Chanel’s 2.25 is an investment, it’s price will go only up in future. Plus the ideas behind the bag are just amazing. You probably know all this already, but still, the inside colour represents her childhood uniforms, the inside pocket for love letter, and the outside one for extra money. It’s seems to be an ideal accessory for a young woman who’s ready to go in the life with enthusiasm and and big dreams.
As for making one my own (which someday I will happen, I just believe in that. First of all the design itself is really simple and minimalistic, so I would put something colourful on it, something that symbolizes me. I thing that would me one of my little crocodiles that I made a couple years ago from little glass beads. Here’s one:
It’s quite small so it would’l be overpowering, but it would be something from me.

Leopard. I want a leopard bag. Not just because it's one of the big things this fall, I legitimately love the print and have been obsessed for a few years. I'm so glad you brought up the "She's a Lady" story because I loved it too! (I LOVE the leopard coat - but I'm 5"3' exactly and all the print overwhelms me!) The Kotur bag that the model is holding on page 204 - I would love that one.
I also love the YSL canvas leopard Muse clutch. I like that it's canvas, it would feel more casual to me for an everyday outfit, which would probably black. Black jeans at least. I love a tight black ankle jean and leopard print, I feel like a ladylike wild child, if such a thing existed. When i think of favourite bag, what immediatly pops into my mind is of course the classic Marry Poppins bag! It is timeless, granny-chic classic and adorable. I think whoever has it, gets the humour behind it; a lovely bag that can contain ANYTHING ! I usually am dressed in black, and i want my bag to have a classic yet a bit edgy colour and history behind it ...

I would like to have it in few colors (uhm..dreamy girl!) but I love the most a black and beige. If i have to choose which buy first I would choose the beige one. I love this nude color and it is not as popular as black 2.55 It is perfect for everyday, when we don't need a lot of things or for parties. This bag is so beautiful that it makes entire outfit.

) MIU MIU bags
I love Miu Miu bags. They are just perfect!

I would have to say if I could choose any bag to make my own I would have to pick Alexander Wang's Small Pouchette! If I could have any bag, it would be this bag. It's leopard print but I like that it's not a in your face leopard print. It's sort of understated. If I were to get it, I'd wear it everywhere. It's a hold all bag. I'd pile my makeup and blackberry and books in it and I'm good to go. I think that since it's so understated, I'll be able to wear it not only for Fall but year round. I could wear it with all black in the Fall or with neutrals in the Spring. It's extremely versatile. It's really amazing!

My dream bag would be Finnish shoe designer Minna Parikka's Maxine bag. Here it is in black lilac-gray.
The natural thing would be to wear the bag along with a retro inspired look but I'd go for a more rock look and that way make it suit me in my own way.

My name was on the waiting lists, and when it arrived and i was ready to get it, my aunt told me she wants one too so i decided to give that one to my aunt and re-add my name on the waiting list. it has been a year and they have not recieved it

My dream bag has always been the one that Janet Leigh used in Psycho. Very ladylike and also not too big, not too small. Big enough to hold that envelope of cash that she stole! Love it!

This was easy for me to answer because I have such trouble finding bags that I knew exactly what my dream bag would be.
I love regular bags for special occasions, but for everyday use I have to wear a bag that wears like a backpack because that is the only type that does not hurt my back. Backpack purses are so hard to find, and when I finally locate one, they are hardly ever cute or lady-like.
So my dream bag would be an elegant, beautiful backpack-type purse, white or off-white in color because I think that would just be so perfect for the summer. Something girly and cute, so I can feel stylish wearing it!
I would make it my own by filling it up with all my essentials, and then attaching a cute charm to the zipper, something sparkly and pink!

Beautiful purse choices Taylor! Of course I LOVE the Hermes 'Kelly' bag too, but I have to say, if I could have ONE bag in this entire world it be Princess Diana's personally owned black 'Lady Dior' handbag : ))) This purse is a symbol of refined taste! Dior presented Diana with this handbag...she loved it so much she carried it to many events and it can be seen in lots of pictures. I love that it's not too trendy...I really haven't seen many women out and about with this bag, very overlooked in my opinion. ~ I think a really special way to make any handbag unique is to emboss the leather with your initials or engrave a silver charm and attach it to a zipper in the inside : ))

In order to personalise the bag i would like the bag to be created using recycled products and vegan materials.
i would also include little details like studs to make it more unique, i would like vintage handles for the bag.

Alexander Wang continues to blow my mind away with every design he comes out with (shoes, clothes, bags). His Rocco Mini Duffel with studs on the bottom was genius, which only makes sense that this season his Bucket Bag is at the top of my bag-lust list. It's big enough to hold everything I require when out of my apartment and it relaxes comfortably on my shoulder as I'm walking throughout the city (of Chicago).
But how would I make it my own...In some dream world I would like to put a vibrant (mustard and purple combination perhaps?) satin fabric on the inside; With deep purses and a black liner I always have a difficult time locating what I need. But in the real world I would do what comes naturally, flaunt it. I would probably put together a simple chic outfit that allows the purse to shine, do a little shopping on Michigan Ave., and of course bring it anytime I am on my college campus.

My pick would be a black Hermes Birkin bag. I have been drooling over this bag for quite a while now. I think it is classic, timeless, and edgy all at the same time. It looks like it would fit a lot in it and be useful. My favorite item is a nice black blazer. My vision is to pair the bag with a nice black blazer, a simple printed racerback, leggings, and over the knee Christian Louboutin boots. For accessories I would wear my yellow gold cuff with my yellow gold Rolex watch. That would make the Birkin bag, well, me.

I would love to have the Kathy Van Zeeland Large Satchel with Shiny Pebble Trim in Leopard. I love Kathy's bags because they last forever, can hold everything you need and they are never made out of leather.

My ideal bag would be a classic Coach, in lilac - I love their shade of purple! Of course, I abuse my bags way too much, and I'd get a Coach bag dirty and ripped with use!
I'd make it mine by accessorizing it with a cute colourful silky scarf - I'm starting to get tired of my plain black Lacoste bag, so I jazzed it up by tying a yellow and lilac scarf around the handles. =)

The Gucci Belt Bag is my ultimate dream bag. It would be so useful during shopping trips, vacations... the possibilities are endless! I know, It is a fanny pack... but its a super trendy fanny pack! I have been coveting a Burberry bag for like 3 years now! Burberry is so timeless and chic. Well I was going to post a picture of the alexander wang bag, with studs on the bottom... black on black but my computer refuses to cooperate... hmmmmm.....and to make it my own I would attach my tail from shopnastygurl, and a silver frame keychain with a picture of my son it... I have been lusting after a Marc Jacobs Stam bag since it first came on the scene. However, I am complete and total lover of leopard, I have to get the YSL Roady in leopard. I didn't like the bag at first because I found it boring in black. However, I would take any one of them in leopard.
The problem with me being a teacher is that I have these expensive tastes, but I love anything designer and high end. However, I wouldn't give up my job to make more money to buy handbags.
I wish that I could figure out how to put the pictures on here!!!

OMG, I can't believe I won the jeans, I'm so happy, I can't wait to try them on, a huge MERCI from France.
The bag of my dream will be the SHOULDER BIRKIN in Dove color from HERMES, (it's been designed by JP Gaultier), it's a different version of the BIRKIN, I love it, I hope I'll get it for my 40s, which is 7 more years to wait, but as my friend Julia says, "what will you ask for, if you already have everything", this bag is everything to me.
Meanwhile, I'm carrying this fantastic Chanel bag. Like you, Tay, I'm a big fan of Chanel. But unfortunately the bag isn't mine, I borrowed it to my sister in law.
I also love my huge Balenciaga, it's so big I can carry all my kids stuff in it, it's perfect

Given that I usually hate pink, I'm astounded by how much I utterly HEART this Juicy Couture Day Dreamer bag...
It's just so bright, and beautiful, and practical, and...ooh! I could just eat it, it's so great! However, I'd have to tone down the rest of my style a little while keeping it fun. I love these boots I saw on Amazon, and they're so ridiculously inexpensive!
I'd wear these with a loose, flowing tunic dress and some chunky jewellery and colourful makeup! And of course that decadently pink bag...

My ultimate dream bag has been the same for many years now. I am in love with Louis Vuitton bags, I would be absolutley thrilled to call any of them my own! I was looking online and found this gorgeous red Alma MM Louis Vuitton. I love the vibrant red and the glossy sheen it has to it. I too covet the YSL Muse bag--someday i hope. That Kelly Relax has me swooning..an ulimate, classic, but unattainale bag on my budget! But my all time fave classic and often forgotten bag is the now defunct company Mark Cross-- in Rear Window Grace Kelly carries the briefcase (for lack of a better word) size in black. It is super hard to find, but i am saving and saving and hope fully one day I will able to afford the min-version classic 1950's black leather, boxy but classy purse. Ah to dream!

I am absolutely in love with the chanel 2.55 jumbo classic, in black caviar leather (of course) and gold trimmings. I am only 13 and have wanted one since I was 10!!! Mabye some day. I would defo wear it with a black ladylike dress and black shoes, or for day time jeggings and a floral top. Wow, you can wear it with anything!!! I

Have you heard of the Miche bag? Recently I ran into two separate friends of mine who both had Miche bags, and I was pretty impressed. Both of these lovely ladies had their own sense of style, and both of them had made their Miche bag totally work for them. One had a lime green cover, and one had a patriotic cover just like the ones below.
So, the great thing about the Miche bag is that you buy just one base bag, and then you can change the cover on the bag in an instant. (It's held on with super strong magnets.)
Here's a picture of one of the base bags, also available in brown.
Here's what I love about them, and why I wish I had one of my own!
1. You don't have to transfer your stuff to a new bag when you want a new look.
2. It's an affordable bag. ($35-40 for the base bag, $25-30 for each cover)
3. The designs are literally endless. If they don't have a cover you like, you can even customize one with an image from vacation, a logo, your child's artwork...
So, if I were to pick one, I'd choose one of the two below. I like the faux leather burgundy one because of the extra outer pockets, and I like the hip flowery one to dress up a non-flashy outfit for fall.
How fun! And, they also make accessories, like an organizer insert, straps with chains, or knotted straps in different colors or patterns.
This is a bag I don't see myself growing tired of any time soon!
