For today’s featured artist interview on FAN CLUB, I present to you one of my most favorite (and one of the most adorable!) rising artists on the music scene, Alexis Jordan.
Her infectious, breakthrough first single is called “Happiness” and like the name states, it makes you just feel happy! Check out the super cool video below.

“The City” star Whitney Port is a huge Alexis Jordan fan, she even blogged about how much she loves the song!
At the young age of 18, Alexis is the first female artist signed to Jay-Z's RocNation label in partnership with Columbia Records and "Happiness" recently reached the top of the Billboard Dance Charts!

CARINA MENZIES: Hi Alexis! Thanks for taking time to speak to FAN CLUB! Can you tell us a little bit about yourself?
ALEXIS JORDAN: Thanks, Carina! Basically, I'm fun and I love to laugh.
CM: Love that! I have to say, “Happiness” is so infectious – some are even calling it the song of the summer. Why is it that you think people are reacting so positively to the track?
AJ: It's something new, fresh, and addictive. “Happiness” just makes you feel good.
CM: Totally.
CM: How did you break into the music industry?
AJ: I was discovered on YouTube by Stargate.
CM: It seems like so many young stars are being discovered on YouTube! So cool. Who are your greatest musical influences?
AJ: Mariah Carey and Whitney Houston
CM: Ok, I have to ask. What were the thoughts that ran through your head the first time you hear “Happiness” on the radio?
AJ: OMG I'm on the radio! Thank you Jesus!
CM: That must have been such a surreal feeling. Alexis, you have such cute personal style. How would you describe your sense of style?
AJ: Fun and classy.
CM: Perfect :)
CM: Can you tell me a bit about filming the music video for “Happiness”? There are some pretty cool special effect that are used!
AJ: The concept was created by me, my mom, my aunt, and Aggressive. I wanted my video to be different from any other video. I wanted my audience to want to watch it over and over.
CM: It’s definitely addictive! I see that Whitney Port from “The City” is a big fan of the song… are you a fan of Whitney’s show?
AJ: Yesss I love the show!!
CM: It’s definitely one of my “guilty TV pleasures” ha!
CM: What makeup looks do you typically go for, whether its during the day or a night out? Do you have any favorite Everyday Minerals products
AJ: I like the natural look with glossy lips during the day; I like to keep it natural at night as well but I like more dramatic eyes. I love the “On the Reef Coral Collection”!
CM: Yes! Everyone seems to love that collection, in fact it sold out after a recent BEAUTY blog I wrote about it. We’re bringing it back though... yay!
CM: I have to ask... what’s your all-time favorite song?
AJ: Say Say by Michael Jackson and Paul Mccartney.
CM: And what’s your favorite part about being a musician?
AJ: Performing live for fans :)
CM: I can only imagine! Lastly, Alexis - what’s next for you?
AJ: Releasing my second single “Good Girl” and another fresh music video!
CM: Can’t wait! Thanks Alexis :)

Most of my treasures are going to Good Will.
I just have no room for a lifetime of "stuff." Clothes, make up and food, are all I'm allowing myself to buy, for the rest of my life.
