EVERYDAY MINERALS MUSICAL MUSE VOL 1. 2013/14 Beauty Initiative

Everyday Minerals is on a mission to nurture the creativity of women artists everywhere. 

The debut of the Everyday Minerals Musical Muses campaign is the first in a series of three volumes of initiatives that the brand will unveil over the next two years.

Musical Muses will coincide with the exclusive release of singles from three up-and-coming musicians, giving them the artistic freedom to create the music that they’ve always dreamed of sharing with the world. Each musician was handpicked by Everyday Minerals founder Carina Menzies, and was chosen for her creativity and passion for her craft.

At its core, this initiative is a fusion of music and beauty that aims to support talented women around the world. The first of three Musical Muses is Georgina Leahy, originally from South East London and now residing and creating music in Los Angeles. After having recently toured with Adam Ant, Georgina recorded a cover version of the ‘60s garage rock classic “Kicks” during her Musical Muses session. Leahy’s unique interpretation of this track was largely influenced by her thoughts that the lyrics were extremely relevant to current times.

Says Everyday Minerals founder Carina: “Being someone like me, who started grassroots, I understand what it is to be independent and creative. I wanted to help put a program together with our brand to help women who are aspiring to bring beauty to the world. At Everyday Minerals, we believe that all women are artists by nature, and are thrilled to help nurture these creative spirits.”

In addition to the release of each track, Everyday Minerals will also launch curated makeup kits based on each artist's style, and will unveil never- before-seen, limited edition products. Keeping with the brand's motto - everyday wearable shades - Carina crafted the most versatile colors that engage in each artist’s creative spirit. The limited edition kits will be showcased in the latest eco-friendly and minimalist packaging from the brand.

The Musical Muses Campaign will also feature a 1960’s French Pop-inspired fashion shoot to support the songs, which be featured online for exposure to Everyday Minerals’ loyal and ever-growing female fan base around the globe. The vintage-inspired photo shoot was a collaboration between Everyday Minerals and Dirt Bike Press, and was shot exclusively using vintage Polaroids.
