Everything's coming up roses with the Spring color collection at Everyday Minerals. Pastel and blush tones are the inspiration behind this collection. Fresh fields of roses that mimic the natural flush you were born with give your skin the romanic radiance that's perfect for any season. Take a peek inside the collection.
Four new blushes are the focal point of the collection. Field of Roses (Pictured left) mimics a cool, pale lavender rose, while Tea Rose (Pictured right) is more of a blush tone. Fresh Rose Blossom resembles a pale pink rose and Primrose is a warm, peachy tone.
We've paired these with two Tinted Lip Butter shades, a peachy nude (Nearly Nude, bottom) and a brighter blush tone (Spring Berries, top).
To round off the collection, we've added in Sheri's Radiant Creation, a neutral peach highlighter that will add a subtle shimmer all over the face or on the eyelids and Joy, the perfect matte neutral shadow to pair with rosy color choices.
No matter where you are, or what you are doing, we hope that your Holidays are full of happiness and warmth. And thank you all so much for being your beautiful selves! We couldn't do what we do without you and wouldn't want to anyway.

1. Can you tell us a little about the inspiration behind the song?
Mark and I went into the studio with an idea of where we wanted to go with the track, but basically let loose after that. We didn't set too many boundaries for the direction of the song.
2. How would you describe your beauty style in relation to your music? Are there any themes you follow that help define your style?
I would say a common theme in my style in general - whether in beauty, music, or anything else - is simple but bold.
3. What is your favorite color palette right now and how do you use those colors with your look and with your art?
As far as my makeup goes I usually keep it simple with earth tones and black liner. I guess this relates to my taste in music, as I'm very drawn towards dark, organic sounds.
4. We are so thrilled to be collaborating with you in such a creative way, can you tell us future past or present someone that you’d love to collaborate with?
Wehbba or Maetrik/Maceo Plex. Both producers have impeccable skills production-wise, and their style is right up my alley.
5. We believe all women are artists by nature, and love to hear about personal achievements in a creative lifestyle, can you recall when you first realized that you were inspired to perform and create music?
My mom is a musician, so I've been exposed to music since I can remember. I think my "aha" moment was when I saw a DJ live for the first time. I had been in love with electronic music for so long, but hadn't yet started going out to clubs or festivals. I had no idea there was this scene where people would come together on such a large scale and dance for hours. Experiencing that for the first time was surreal - It drove that seed that had already been planted years before even deeper.
6. What are your favorite beauty products for when you are on the road or even during your performance?
A strong, dark eyeliner and lightly tinted, hydrated lips.
7. Do you have any helpful words or advice you can give to other women who want to further pursue the arts?
Figure out exactly what you want, and then apply yourself 110%. No one wants your dreams fulfilled as badly as you do. And don't give up when things get difficult, that just means things are about to get really freakin' amazing.

What we put into our products is very important to our way of life, and we know that it's important to you too. So we're giving you some insider info on our how our products are made, where and how we get our materials, and how we are working together to keep the Earth a green and healthy place. We'll call this series our ingredient spotlight, so you can know what you're getting and where it's coming from. This week, we're going to focus on bamboo, used to create our award-winning makeup brushes.
Bamboo brushes are an effective way to provide a sustainable, inexpensive, quality product. Bamboo is the fastest growing woody plant on earth. It is found in diverse climates that range from hot tropics to freezing mountains, and has an extremely versatile and short growing cycle. When the branches are cut, the underground system of the plant remains intact and the plant quickly sends up new shoots. Bamboo is harvested three to five times a year instead of the typical 20 to 50 years of its wood counterparts, making it completely sustainable!
All of our ingredients are purchased from small-scale producing groups. Carina travels worldwide, personally visiting suppliers to trace the ingredients, meet the growers, and ensure care for the environment and fair working conditions and wages.

With the recent excitement of our new website launch buzzing all around us, we want to take this opportunity to show you the woman behind our new artwork, Rina Khadivi. That’s her above in her studio in East Austin.
As a female-owned brand that feels strongly about promoting the artistic development of all women, we were a perfect fit from the start. She’s a jack-of-all-trades, of the artistic sort. From graphic design and marketing, to murals, photography and painted portraits, her creative outlets are numerous, and we love it. When it comes to inspiration, she gets it from her surroundings.
“The make up is fresh and light, therefore the art that it inspires me to create is fresh and light. I’m given a lot of artistic freedom, which really inspires me to explore different outlets of creativity.”
She’s always been a natural when it comes to artistic endeavors (see adorable picture below: that’s her hard at work, age 2.) But it wasn’t until an art history class about Pollock that it really hit.
“That’s when I thought, I want to do this for a living.”
The EM products that have Rina feeling the most inspired?
“I love Snooze Bar blush paired with Barely Nude Tinted Lip Butter. It’s the perfect barely-there nude look. I add in Blooming Mauve when I want a bit more color. The skin tints are great for warming up winter complexions, and the retractable brushes make holiday traveling so easy.”

We are so excited to launch our Musical Muses campaign, the first in a series of initiatives designed to nurture the creativity and talent of women artists everywhere. To start, we chose the catchy track "Kicks" by our first muse, the talented up-and-coming British songstress Georgina Leahy. We'll be releasing exclusive tracks from our other two muses in the coming months. Learn more about the campaign here.
I handpicked Georgina as our first muse because she is so passionate about her craft, plus her creativity is just so darn infectious! She recently toured with the legendary Adam Ant, and she really displays her retro-chic and fun-loving side in "Kicks." The song is a cover version of the '60s garage rock classic, which she put her own spin on because she believed that the lyrics were extremely relevant to current times. Plus, her '60s influences - from Edie Sedgwick to the Beatles - and eclectic style make Georgie a perfect fit for the EM family.
Read on for an exclusive interview with Georgina, and enjoy!
1. Can you tell us a little about the inspiration behind the song?
I love the song 'Kicks' because if you didn't listen to the words you would think it was a really cheerful, happy, positive tune, but when you dig a little deeper and really listen to the lyrics, the poignant dark message resonates. This gives me a lot to work with.
2. Tell us about how you made the song happen. Who was involved and how did the recording go?
Stephen Heath and I have been experimenting with 'Kicks,' slowing parts down to bring out the dark message but keeping the bright rhythmic chorus so the song maintains its magic. We are thinking of adding harmonica next.
3. How would you describe your beauty style in relation to your music? Are there any themes you follow that help define your style?
I love experimenting. Everyday I dress differently because everyday I feel different. This is reflected in my music, especially with my lyrics as I always have something different I would like to say about what I am feeling.
4. What is your favorite color palette right now and how do you use those colors with your look and with your art?
I love bright lipstick so even if I am barely wearing any other makeup my lips will pop bright red, orange, pink, purple. I love 1960's style make up, Edie Sedgwick is my style inspiration, and musically I am highly influenced by the '60s. I love the Beatles; who doesn't?
5. We are so thrilled to be collaborating with you in such a creative way, can you tell us (future, past, or present) someone that you’d love to collaborate with?
I would love to collaborate with Bob Dylan! He is amazing, so organic and his lyrics blow my mind. Should I stop at one, or continue as I could go on forever?! The Rolling Stones, The Who, The Beatles, Blondie, The Arctic Monkeys, The Black keys, Paulo Nutini, John Mayer, Britney Spears, Bon Jovi, Stevie Nicks, Awolnation, Hot Chip, Kasabian, Bruno Mars, Steven Tyler, The Stone Roses: I could go on forever!
6. We believe all women are artists by nature, and just love to hear about personal achievements in a creative lifestyle, can you recall when you first realized that you were inspired to perform and create music?
I began dancing at the tender age of two. Singing and acting swiftly followed suit. My first show was the opera Aida when I was five, on press night when Aida was performing her solo at the end of act one, I ran on stage sat right in front of her in her spotlight and fanned myself. That's when I knew I had to be on stage. The first single I bought was Shiny Happy People by REM when I was five, and it's still my favorite song.
7. What are your favorite beauty products for when you are on the road or even during your performance?
Like I mentioned before, bright lipstick. A big pair of shades and bright lippie can hide your tiredness. A good bronzer or blusher is essential too, highlight those cheekbones ladies. On stage I am all about the fake eyelashes. I love the huge 1960's style lash, your eyes will be seen by the back row.
8. Do you have any helpful words or advice you can give to other women who want to further pursue the arts?
Believe in yourself! If you don't believe in yourself, no one else will. And just create. Don't wait for someone to represent you or assist, just make music, keep a notebook with you all the time and just write lyrics, thoughts and feelings. Being an artist is a full time job that never stops, live and love every minute of it!
