Q: I am looking for my winter base color. It used to be called "beige neutral matte". Is it now called "medium 4N matte"? I am also looking for my summer base color, which used to be called "medium beige neutral matte". Is it now called "tan 5N matte"? Thank you!!
A: Hi Rachel! Yes! Those are the new names of your base colors :)
Q: Winged Butter was my perfect shade, what shade is the equivalent of it?
A: We have reformulated our Matte/Semi Matte bases and have renamed them for easy identification and recall. Winged Butter was from the 4G category, so that will be the equivalent of your base shade now :)
Q: I was Sandy Fair in the old matte foundation. Would Rosy Fair 0C be comparable to Sandy Fair for warm toned skin? Thanks!
A: The color that is equivalent to Sandy Fair in our new naming system is Ivory (1N). If you wanted a similar tone for warm-toned skin try the Golden Ivory (1W). All of our "C" foundations are for cool-toned skin.
Q: Where have all the eye shadows gone?? It has been about a year since I shopped at EM, but was very surprised to see only a couple eye shadows. I was really hoping to get some more fun colors!
A: Hello Jessie,
Some of our colors, including eye shadows, tend to be seasonal, therefore, we often will only have them available for the year or until they sell out. But we have a variety of new eye shadows coming out soon! Be sure to check our website for any updates!
Q: I loved your foundation intensive, are any of your new foundations the same formula as that one?
A: Hello Judy,
We no longer carry the Intensive base line formula and we are not offering a similar formula at this time. But you may want to try our other formula bases: Matte, Semi-matte, and Jojoba. I have listed a bit more information in regards to these bases here:
Semi-Matte - provides a subtle glow appearance and is formulated for normal to combination skin.
Matte - provides a silky smooth matte finish that is ideal for all skin types.
Jojoba - a satin finish and this is good for all skin types.
You can also try our 7 Piece Sample Kit. You can select up to 5 sample products; including foundations, face, and cheek products and you only pay for shipping You will automatically get 2 free cheek colors (Primrose and Tea Rose) when you order this kit. You can select your kit here: http://www.everydayminerals. com/store/productkit/ mineralmakeup/free/
Q: What is the new equivalent to semi-matte light shade?
A: Hello Tessa,
Not all shades in the old formula are available in the new formula. I would recommend that you try 1W and 2W through our 7 Piece Sample Kit to see if any of these shades could be your perfect match in the new formula. Thank You!
Q: Hello! I am currently using "golden medium" (previous name). Will the shade still be "golden medium" in the new name although it says "formally light medium"? If not, is there a shade suggestion?
A: Hello Meena,
You can try the 3W Golden Beige and 4W Golden Medium through our 7 Piece Sample Kit to see if any of these shades is your perfect match in the new formula. Thank You!
Q: My shade used to be olive medium. What is the new name for that shade? Thanks!!!
A: Hello Jill,
Not all shades in the old formula are available in the new formula. But, I would say, the closest shade to the former Olive Medium is the 5W Golden Tan. This is for medium to dark skin with golden undertones. Thank You!
Q: Hi... I see golden almond is supposed to be the new name for "tan" however I don't see that option for sale, but tan is still available. Is the formula the same? Because this is the only line of makeup I can depend on not to break me out. Please help!
A: Hello Mati,
We have a completely new Matte and Semi-Matte line with a unique and easy name system. You can learn more about it on our Blog. The Tan base has been renamed as 6W Golden Almond. It is the same shade but with fewer ingredients. We also offer the 7 Piece Sample Kit so that you can try out a variety of Base shades as well. Thank You!
Q: Help! Okay, first of all, I FINALLY found my foundation match, and that's a big deal because I've never been able to perfectly match a foundation to my complexion, but 1N Ivory matches perfectly! Yeah! :D But then I go to put it in my cart and it's out of stock! Nooooooo! .... So my question is this: Is the matte formulation in N1 Ivory the same shade as the 1N Ivory in the semi-matte formula?
A: Hello Holly,
Yes, it is the same shade but the Semi Matte formula gives a soft glow to the skin :) Thank You!
Q: I just tried to buy the 25% off for 3 full size items special, and I'm confused about the foundation colors. When I ordered my foundation samples, I got Ivory, which is my perfect match (yay!) but when I went to order a foundation, I saw that 1N ivory was out of stock. I clicked on the 3 full size pieces for 25% off deal and I see just Ivory. Okay, so confused! Are IVORY and 1N IVORY the same shade, or are they 2 different shades? All I know is the matte Ivory sample I got last week is my perfect match. Please help so I can order my full size items. I love this makeup! :)
A: Hello Holly,
I would highly recommend this link which talks about our Base shades: http://www.everydayminerals.com/store/stories/newbies/
0N Fair is the closest match in comparison to the Ivory. Additionally, we offer the 7 Piece Sample Kit so that you can custom select your shades and try them before you make a purchase. Thank You!
Q: Hi. I just got my free samples, and I am in between the golden medium 4w and the golden tan 5w (both matte). Are there any shades in between?
Thanks for all the help you can provide.
A: Hello Maria,
Currently, we don't offer a base shade in between 4W and 5W. But, you can actually use a skin tint or a light bronzer to help darken the shade without changing the undertone of your base. You can try the Poised to Perfection skin tint or the Gimme a Kissimmee Bronzer. Thank You!
Q: So which provides more coverage...matte, semi-matte, or jojoba? I need to cover ugly acne, so which would I have to layer the least amount to get the most amount of coverage? Yes, I use concealers, but they don't help much. I liked your intensive line. Please bring it back.
A: Hello Alyssa,
Coverage wise, I would say that the Matte provides better coverage. Some women on the other hand, like the Semi Matte over the Matte and vice versa. However, it really comes down to personal preference :) All of our formulas provide build-able coverage so you can apply your base in several light layers until you reach your desired coverage :) We no longer carry the Intensive line. Thank You!
Q: Is there any way to get email notifications when Ivory IN matte foundation will be back in stock? I've been checking the page everyday to see if they are like a stalker! This is THE best foundation ever! For the past 7 years, I've been wearing bareMinerals and have never been that happy with the shade match or shiny look it gave my complexion.Even with Alima Pure ,which has SIXTY shades, I couldn't find a match! (and forget how ridiculous their prices are!) Finally EVERYDAY MINERALS is the company that knows what real skin tones look like, has superior quality, and fantastic, affordable prices to boot! Thank you! Please, don't ever change this formulation. I will be buying these in bulk. :D
A: Hello Holly,
The 1N Ivory Matte should be back in stock in about 2 weeks. Please feel free to check back with us at firstname.lastname@example.org for any updates!
We're really happy to hear that you like our products and that they are working so well for you. :) We appreciate you taking the time to write to us, because we are always very thrilled to hear from satisfied customers. Thank You!
1N Ivory is the closest match in comparison to the Olive Fair and Fairly Light has been renamed as 3N Beige. We also offer the 7 Piece Sample Kit so that you can try out a variety of Base shades as well. Thank You!
Q: I used to buy Neutral in Matte, what is the new name or equivalent in this range?
A: Hello Sarah,
The neutrals can now be found in the N for neutral base category. There will be a number in front of the N. We now offer the base shades in a numbering system with a letter: W for warm, N for neutral, and C for cool tones. If you need further assistance in your base selection, please email us at email@example.com. Thank You!
Q: I have mild rosacea and would like to know which foundations are best to use. Thanks.
A: Hello Loretta,
You can email us at firstname.lastname@example.org so that we could further assist you with your base selection. We need to know your skin shade/undertone. We suggest you try the Mint Color Corrector, it helps in neutralizing redness on skin. Thank You!
Q: I was wondering if any of the matte foundations contain lauroyl lysine? After a long process of elimination I have determined that this ingredient makes me break out considerably. I know you have the ingredients listed (and lauroyl Lysine is not) however, my dermatologist warned me against using your foundation because she said they all contained this ingredient! I know that she could simply be mistaken, and wanted to ask for myself! Thank you for your time!
A: Hello Brittany,
We now actually offer the original Matte/Semi Matte bases and they don't contain Lauroyl Lysine. Please email us at email@example.com and we can gladly assist you with your base shade selection. Thank You!
Q: Hi! I absolutely love your makeup and I have used it for a few years now. I discontinued using it while on accutane and i'd love to switch back now that my acne is gone! Has there been a change in formulation? I noticed the Lauryl Lysine is no longer listed. Just curious! Thanks!!
Q: I used to use the intensive formula in golden medium but now want the matte formula. Which shade is better for me now golden beige 3w golden medium 4w or almond 6n? I have warm undertones but the 3w shade look like I might be a teeny bit too light, and the almon looks like it would work but it has a number 6 and I'm afraid it might be too dark :( thank you
A: Hello Carrie,
You can try the 4N Medium Matte, it's the closest shade to the Golden Medium. Thank You!
Q: Hi I used to use Golden Fawn, and I have very strong yellow undertones. Golden Fair worked alright in the pressed compact form you used to offer, but I wondered if Golden Ivory would be a better match to the old Golden Fawn?
A: Hello Natasha,
Yes, you can try the Golden Fair or Golden Ivory through our 7 Piece Sample Kit to see which one closely matches your favorite base shade. Thank You!
Q: Hi I use the Golden Tan I just recently purchased the golden Tan in Matte and they are so different. What is the new name for the Golden Tan? . The Golden Tan use to have yellow tones and the new one is peachy pink. Please help.
Q: Hi! I use what used to be called Olive Fair in matte base. What is the new equivalent? I didn't see anything listed that was formerly Olive Fair in the new shades. Also, which of your three bronzer shades go best with Olive Fair? I want just a touch of color. Thank you!
A: Hi Victoria,
The 0W Golden Fair is the closest shade in comparison to the Olive Fair. You may want to try the Poipular Shores bronzer, it has the most yellow undertone out of the 3 bronzers that we currently have. Thank You!
Q: Hi, I have been using EM for 8+ years now, and I just noticed your Base names have changed and/or completely gone. I use equal amounts of Olive Fair and Olive Medium Matte. What would be an equivalent shade or shades to those 2 old bases? I have Hispanic olive skin tone. I am close to running out of my current Olive Fair and Olive Medium and wish to purchase new base. Thanks!
Our colorist recommended the Golden Beige and Golden Tan together with a hint of Mint Color Corrector added would be the closest match to Olive Medium. Mineral makeup is ideal for mixing colors, thus creating custom colors, we even sell an empty mixing jar for this popular purpose.
0W Golden Fair is the closest match in comparison to the Olive Fair. We also offer the 7 Piece Sample Kit so that you can try out a variety of Base shades as well.
Olive shades need green added, so we would recommend that you add the Mint Color Corrector to your base shade that matches closest to your complexion.
Q: Hi there! I have found that my closest match is 3N beige, but especially during the summer months, it's just looks a little too light and ashy; which matte base do you think I should try for summer?
A: Hi Bay
You can give the 4N Medium a try, it is a shade darker than the 3N Beige base. Thank You!
Q: Are only certain matte bases eligible for the 3-piece custom kit? I wish to order the Rosy Light 2C Matte Base for my light but oily skin, but the site does not give me this as an option. I was able to find the other 2 items (Multi-Tasking Concealer & Sunlight Finishing Dust) in the dropdown. Thanks.
A: Hi Victoria,
The Rosy Light 2C Matte base can be purchased through the 3 Piece Kit. You can try pressing the Ctrl button simultaneously with "+" or "-" to zoom in/out and see the whole window. It should allow you to see the whole pop up window in the 3 Piece Custom Kit and show all the other shades from the other pages which you can't view. Thank You!
Yes, it is a shade darker. With our new base naming system, we have assigned numbers and letters in the base name. such that 0 (zero) would represent the lightest shade and 7 is the darkest shade. Letters C, N and W represents the undertones, C for Cool, N for Neutral and W for Warm. Thank You!
You can try our Finishing Dust through our 7 Piece Sample Kit. If worn over your base shade, it will help to give a matte look, keep the shine away throughout the day, and set your makeup to keep it in place. If worn under your base, it will act as a primer to help even skin tone and control oil without drying your skin, helping your makeup apply smoother. Thank You!
Q: Hello! Just found out about your products! I'm wondering what shade to get - i seem conflicted over 3w and 4w - I used to use l'oreal true match in sand beige - which i believe is 5w or 4w - May i add that i;m very happy to see mineral products at an actual affordable price! It's great!
Q: Hello! So I used to order the matte base in the shade honey beige. I liked to use it as a bronzer instead of for coverage because I use the rosy light 2c as a base. However, I'm wondering what the new shade or something very similar to honey beige is? Thank you!
A: Hi Margarita,
You can try the 6N Almond, 7N Bronze or the 6C Rosy Almond through the 7 Piece Sample Kit to see which one of these shades is a good match to your previous shade of bronzer. Thank You!
