Normally when you wake up you don’t have a plan to begin and follow through with your day. Is it wise to have a plan? Yes. Is it treacherous to make one? No!! Boring, perhaps. The key is not to spend too much time on planning, but rather on the getting on with your day in a fresh new way. Planning takes some thought, but once you get in the groove of doing it, you will be much more satisfied with your day. Here are a few tips for coming up with the best plan for your day, in little time.
Set aside a limited amount of time for setting out your schedule.
Take roughly 5-15 minutes out of your morning to organize a schedule. If you find yourself stalling then allow yourself to take a breather. Sometimes eating in the morning can serve as an energy boost for your mind too.
Planning should be fun so don’t get upset if plans conflict or you don’t hear back from someone you need to hear from. Try taking a break and getting back to it in a set time, like half an hour.
Know what’s happening at least the day prior if possible.
It’s always best to know what’s going on ahead of time. If you have plans with friends, figure out the time and whether or not they can for certain make it at least the day before the event. Also have a backup plan. This saves time and disappointment if something comes up.
Incorporate new activities as you go along.
Doing new projects, hobbies, or just daily activities can keep your life vibrant and fun. Try a yoga class! Catch up with a friend you haven’t spoken to in forever! Join a club! Try a new makeup look! There is so much opportunity for us to keep life interesting each and every day.
